Arya, but Murtagh is really close. I also liked Angela, Elva and Brom.

Brom's Saphira or Eragon's Saphira
Brom's Saphira or Eragon's Saphira

Was that a question? If so, Eragon's Saphira
I like Arya as well but she's not my favorite character. She's a bit stuck up. Every now and then I would have liked to say to her character, "you and your people are not that great. If you were, you wouldn't have needed to depend on a 16/17 year old human dragon rider who didn't have a tenth of the training and education you did to save you and lead the dragon riders where you cannot. " I like Eragon the most because I like characters who genuinely know they can be idiots.
Arya! She's so cool. She's a feminist and she is awesome. She's a Rider, Queen of the Elves, and was ambassador to the Varden
RORAN. He's the rock-hard-guy of the entire series except for the first part, Roran is a description of pure rage, aggression and valour. He transformed from a mourning son to a leader of an entire village and eventually he took down a guy with stocks of eldunari during the battle in the Capital city against Barst.
I like them all except Galbatorix. I especially like Murtagh, Saphira, Thorn, Elva, Eragon, and Nasuada. This might sound crazy but also really really love Shruiken. It's not his fault he's evil so which means that he could have been good again!
Murtagh, Angela, Roran, Solembum (Angela's werecat), Thorn, Saphira
Angela has always been my favorite. She makes me laugh, and she's so strange, but in a really cool way. And Solembum. But I think Murtagh is probably my second (or third? I'm not really counting Solembum, for some reason).
Murtagh. Totally. He's the only reason I read the whole series. Angela's pretty darn cool too though.

i liked Saphira the best n second is that elf who forged Eragon's sword, pardon me coz its a long time since I read the book and I tend to forget. If you know the name please reply me.
I thought all the characters were great, but if I had to choose one to see in a mini-series it would be Angela.
When I pondered this question there was a small spark deep down within me that I did not fully expect to see. I found that above all, I love and respect Glaedr with a fierce passion that is like unto no other character(even Oromis or Saphira). He is able to overcome many of his enigmas to provide his incomparable help and wisdom to others. Even when Oromis died, though he was hurting beyond comprehension, he realized the intensity of everyone's need for him, whether they realized it or not. Thus, the most respected and favoured character in my mind would be Glaedr.I also believe that Angela is an irreplaceable character. She adds humor and a depth of understanding to the entire land of Alagaesia, let alone the events surrounding the story, that even the protagonist does not. For me she was one of the main sources of being able to, relate to, if you will. Not to mention all of her amazing capabilities:)
