Hello Jan, this is a really good idea and I have had a look at the link to your site and the authors page. I hope it takes off for you and for the writing community. Before I post details, I wondered if 'Poetry Collections' are included in what you require? All the best
Roberta aka Tai
Hi Shaun,Thanks.
Hi Roberta,
It's not my website (can't lay claim to any sort of technical expertise). I am just one of the authors helping to get it going by uploading books and offering suggestions. There hasn't been any mention of poetry. I think it might be tricky trying to add that with the fiction and non-fiction because of the list of genres, sub-genres, story elements, tone, protagonists etc. Keep a watch on the site and you can offer suggestions for adding it.
Cheers
Jan
Thanks, Jan. I thought that was probably the case. It looks like a good platform for new writers.Best of luck with it.
Roberta
For me the site is spoiled by the Amazon.com advert which hovers over your text and makes it unreadable. I'm using IE, don't know whether it does it with other software
Jim wrote: "For me the site is spoiled by the Amazon.com advert which hovers over your text and makes it unreadable. I'm using IE, don't know whether it does it with other software"I just tried it with Firefox and the Amazon Ads remained well behaved at the side and bottom.
I went back and had another go, but the amazon add just sits there as the pages change behind it, and covers up the text.It may well be an IE problem, but a lot of people still use IE so I thought it was worth bringing it to Jan's attention.
I'm on IE 7 which might be the problem, but I've tried cleaning out the cache etc and that amazon ad still sits on top of the text!Pity about that but as long as it isn't a general problem that is screwing up a perfectly good website
Sorry you're having a problem. The website is run by Steven Drennon. Please mention it in the comments section on the website. www.bookmatchers.com He needs lots of feedback on what is working and what isn't working.

Jan
Hi Andrew,Try registering and logging in. I'm already registered as I uploaded a book, so not sure what the page looks like if you haven't registered.

This seems to be the best thing to do if you are having problems with the site rather than discussing it here.
Thanks

There isn't even anywhere to log in when I go onto the page :-(
I've just had this reply from Steven re the ad over the wording:Hi Janet,
Thanks for letting me know about that. I was trying to work on the site with my iPad today and had some problems with it as well. I'm going to remove the widgets because they just seem to have too many issues with certain browsers.
