Was the Secret worth reading four books for it to be revealed?

I was in English class when I found out the Secret. And my reaction: WHAT. THE. HECK? I was glad to find out what the whole series was revolved around, but I didn't realize that it would be....well, what it was. Were you annoyed that you read four books for a disappointing Secret? If so, what annoyed you and why were you annoyed?

I actully like the Secret. It is the biggest secret of the world - what's on the other side of our lives. It really makes the mind ponder.

I was a little disappointed by it. I was hoping for maybe something humorous not something so profound.

I wanted the Secret to be somewhat magical. I mean, the alchemy in the book seemed to me to be magic, and the Secret should have had some of that too. But with a joke that we've all heard before, just with a different twist on it, really? I was disappointed, but at least I now know the Secret!!! Muahaha!

Melly in the end of the book they sort of lead you to believe that it was a reference to "the other side" not the other side ofthe road in the literal sense ...more
