Alexandra | 16 comments ISBN 0880794267; ISBN-13 978-0880794268
but when I tried to add these to the entry I got a message that said these ISBNs were taken by NOT A BOOK - but searching for them did not produce an entry.

So how can I attach the correct ISBNs to this item?

I wonder if the entry has been deleted as 'NOT A BOOK', but I don't see why it should be. This item is a combined pack of the book by Cynthia Giles with the cards by Yury Shakov. As I understood it, a combined pack should not be treated as simply another edition of the book. But it makes no sense to say that a book is a valid entry, but a book + something is not valid... particularly as there are entries for both the cards and the book.

Vicky (librovert) | 2462 comments I found it and fixed it, it should come up in search now.

In the event it takes a few days to re-cache, the link is here: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/29...

Is this a hardback or paperback book?

This ISBN combines the paperback book of that title (by Cynthia Giles) and the cards (by Yury Shakov) in a boxed set

Alexandra | 16 comments Thank you very much.
My copy appears to be a later edition (slightly different cover, publ. date of 1997, 350 pages long).
However it shares the ISBN of the link above, so I had to create it without ISBN. II tried to combine it with the 1996 box set above, but they don't appear together... is this a caching problem that will self-resolve, or is there something that I need to do?

Alexandra | 16 comments Well, thank you for your efforts, Deon, but you seem to have overdone things!
You appear to have combined the 2 editions of the card+book set (which I was discussing with Vicky) with a hardback edition and a paperback edition of the book alone.
I note that the guidance notes for librarians clearly state that boxed sets containing a book should NOT be treated as variant editions of the book, so I do not understand why you have done this.
