Spider the Doof Warrior (synesthesia) | 15 comments Well, I don't know. I'm fond of Watchmen.
Though I think Dr. Manhattan is a wuss. It's just... Kind of stylish I think. Just interesting.

But there was a scene in the movie I wish had been in the book.

1. It's NOT A COMIC BOOK. It's a graphic novel.
2. Where does the raped fall in love with the rapist? That never actually happens. It's the daughter that is loved, not the rapist.

3. Dr. Manhattan is not a superior intellect, he's a different life form. He's become a god. He no longer cares about people, because they're abstractions to him.

Emily O (readingwhilefemale) | 76 comments I thought it was interesting that the superheroes were what they would be in real life, or closer to it. I mean, if people were to run around in costumes doing vigilante justice, they would be insane. So that was an interesting premise.

I've also heard that each hero represents a different moral philosophy, with one being utilitarianism and another being hero or virtue ethics or something like that. I read the article a long time ago, but it was interesting. Did anyone else read that?

Overall, I thought it was interesting, but just not my style.
