Does Any one get annoyed by way Piper thinks about Percy and whines a lot in her mind

I really don't care about her views on Percy- she can think what she wants, idc. But when she obsesses over Jason and panics about her relationship-and then she never does any real fighting and just complains. I mean, nothing she does would be easy for anybody else, but everybody else on the quest has it harder and has bee able to hold it together. Idk...I'm not trying to hate on her-she kind of a neutral charater for me.

You know what is super annoying? When people have nothing better to do than start controversy over a character that's much more interesting than said person.
I get really anoyed by her whining about Percy but I kinda thought that it was stareotypical for a child of Aphrodite to whine...right???
Piper kind of bugs me. I mean, all she does, is worry about how Jason might be roman, and the world is going to end. I mean, I like her as a character, like I like the idea, just she bugs me.

Come on guys. Annabeth worries about Percy. Let piper worry about Jason. We all worry about if we are loved. She is normal.

And I think it expresses exactly how people feel about Piper. Annabeth does virtually the same things as Piper, but Piper gets bashed for it, and Annabeth is like a perfect angel. I love them both, but people need to get a grip.
Ok pipper was in the lost hero a strong willed girl who does not care what otheres think, befor she finds out that she is Aphridite's daughter. After that, aka in Mark of Athena, she is worryed that jace will leave her because he sees parts from his old life. I can understand her thaughts but they are a pain in the but. i cant even stand people like that in real life.

We had both annabeth and piper pov's in the mark of athena and I think people will agree that the amount of time annabeth spoke about percy is far less compared to that of piper about Jason.
Piper's an ok character. If her pov was more about the quest than her boyfriend than she would be a lot more interesting.
Plus don't you think there is a reason why soo many people don't really like her.
The author obviously made Piper the way he wanted to. There's nothing we can do, I'm just going to move on. I'm not going to hate the series just because one character doesn't click with me. I'm still going to read them and enjoy them. I think you guys should too, don't worry about Piper. She's just a character.

Yup, I think Piper is annoying, and I try to skim her part as quickly as possible, because I hate how she thinks Jason is better than Percy (and everyone else). She also rants on about the same stuff. I personally prefer the other characters to her.
Piper is so average in that way. Rick doesn't try to make her better than petty thoughts like most characters are. Any teenage girl thinks her boyfriend is the best and whines without end on subjects. Piper is the most realistic and easiest to relate to.
piper balances everyone out we need all of the seven for it to be balanced ever her who portrays the average girl all of the characters worry about something they all solve their problems in their own way whether alone or together in the last bit we saw the heroes work their best1. Anabeth=alone
2.Leo,Hazel,Frank
3.Jason,PERCY,Piper
we're meant to relate to one of these characters like how I relate to Frank Because he is CANADIAN
some girl out there will relate to piper and how invested she is in her relationship and there's nothing wrong with that

If there is some thing I don't like about piper it would be her LACK OF PERCEPTION and how she's not as open minded as she could be although it's understandable since the average girl wouldn't really date the schools "troubled kid" like she'd labeled Percy page 120 in the hard cover edition. For those of u who r in or have finished high school who do u wanna bet most of the girls dreamed of dating the golden boy or the guy who always got into trouble and ur parent warned u about and wasn't even the bad boy in the classic way
well we ALL have our styles and hang with our own group of frinds however diferent they may be.
one of the seven is most like us and one of there problems is ours in everyday life it's up to u to decide which character u like or hate but that doesn't mean there not important Rick riordan does a good job of putting in a little bit of everyone in his books PLUS YOU CAN'T CHANGE THE BOOK

I'm not trying to complain about piper, I just think she doesn't know how much she has. I would never say i am the most grateful person in the world, but i strive to be as grateful as posible, while i dont think piper appears to care. I am a teenage girl and i would thank god if a boy just looked at me and thought i was pretty. Ok, so I've never been in a relationship, but so what? One thing I dont understand, and I know someone will say something about this, is why people cry and are so upset over breakups, unless you just let the relationship slip away. The way I see it is that you didn't have anything to start with (before the relationship started), so you didn't technically lose anything. I'm sorry if you disagree, don't hate. I'm trying to look at this from a realist view...

It's because she isn't a likeable character. She has qualities to her that don't appeal to a lot of people. So you think it's just random that piper is one the only characters that these discussions take place about. That's just the way it is. Characters like percy or Leo are majorly liked.

What doesn't make her likeable? More people like traitorous, murderous Luke more than kind, affectionate Piper.
Piper's character is annoying. For those saying that it makes her character more "realistic", a character doesn't have to whine or constantly look down on others to be realistic.

"annoying" is relative. You can't just say "that person is annoying" and 100% of people will agree with you. It's not factual, and I don't find her annoying, therefore, your argument is invalid.

Piper has some characteristics that not everybody likes! That's what this is for, to discuss the traits of Piper. Honestly, it doesn't have to get everybody riled up here, and some are just trying to get their points across! Everyone is allowed to have their own opinion, I have mine, and everybody else does too. Well I think that Piper isn't a bad character and is normal, worrying if her boyfriend likes her or not, and that Annabeth worries about Percy but she's the perfect one and not Piper, that's my enclosed opinion and I don't find it to be incorrect or anybody else's to be incorrect either!

Luke has a sad story. People feel bad for him as he had a really hard life. Plus if it weren't for Luke's sacrifice piper wouldn't exist.( the series I mean)
Coming back to piper you don't seem to acknowledge any of my or anyone's comments on how much piper spends her time thinking about Jason and her love life. When you read a percy or Leo pov you get humour and action. I am not saying she is a bad fighter but people don't care about her constant rants about whether Jason is a good guy or not or whether or not he likes Reyna anymore. It's boring.

I understand that she talks about love and Jason a lot, but why wouldn't she?
I care. I care about every character and their problems in this book. I find Piper very funny, actually. She has a less obvious, dry humor that people don't really understand. If you say Piper's scenes have no action, you clearly haven't read any of the books in this series because I think she has more action scenes than Hazel does, and no one complains about Hazel being boring.

I just hate Piper nowadays. It's just that she's so cautious and ungrateful. I mean I can name more than enough examples. Take Reyna/Jason/Piper love triangle for instance. Reyna has SO much on her shoulders, so much pain, and here's Piper being her ungrateful little self, worrying about only her feeling. OH< REYNA'S SO BEAUTIFUL < JASON LIKES MORE. For the sake of my sanity, SHE FLIPPIN' HAS JASON> REYNA HAS NO ONE AND SHE"S JUST WHINING. And I get that she loves Jason, she should, but she's being a complete jerk by putting down Percy. She hasn't even taken the time to get to know him. I mean, Piper did have a lot of good qualities, and now she's just.....so away from the quest, her friends...and everyone. And has anyone els noticed, even though we haven't had a Jason POV he's been kinda doing the same thing. What happened to these two once-lovable characters???

Gosh, hating one character doesn't mean people hate the whole book. You're telling people to not re as a book if they don't like it, you should listen to your own advice. If you do not like the discussion then don't read

But none of us can deny her positive qualities and accomplishments, you're right.

As far as her being whiny? I would have to agree to some extent but after all she has her worries just like any other teenager, but come on, really-when your in the war it shouldn't be your first concern.
