Started reading New Spring today, getting ready to read all the books in preparation for AMOL in January. Anyone else re-reading with me, or want to?

YUP! i'm half way thru Eye of the World on my most recent re-read (think this will be my 3rd or 4th time thru them all)... can hardly wait until January!!!!
I'm actually reading the series for the first time. I started it a couple of months ago and I'm currently on Winter's Heart.I'm pretty much addicted to WoT right now...
I started to early and finished my reread about a month ago. I might reread the last two again in December. I don't even know how many times I have reread this series, at least once a year sometimes twice since The Dragon Reborn.
I am in the middle of the Path of Daggers and I am listening to the audiobooks after I finish each book.
Nice! I just finished New Spring, and am starting TEotW. You all are invited to come check out my internet home, www.dragonmount.comThe forums are where I'm at most of the time^_^

How's New Spring? I started from TEotW even though I knew NP was a prequel. I guess I was a bit intimidated by the length of the series at the time, so I decided to skip it. That was probably a mistake.
Thanks for the link by the way!
You are most welcome. My name there is Sakaea.New Spring is very good, it has some fascinating insights. You should definitely read it!

Thanks again! Yeah, I'm actually really excited to met young Lan and young Moiraine. I always regretted not knowing more about their past.

One of the reasons why I decided to skip it was because I was afraid of spoilers. Weird, since it's a prequel.
In any case, I meant to read it after the main series.
I just finished my reread of the series though, i finished it a lot faster than i expected i was hoping to finish right before AMOL came out. It's probably because i skipped crossroads of twilight, but I just couldn’t go through that again
I think I'll read New Spring once I'm done with the main series, but still before A Memory of Light, since it's not out yet. What's wrong with Crossroads of Twilight? Is it boring? I have finished reading The Path of Daggers a few days ago and I thought it was the weakest book in the series so far. I still enjoyed it though. Is CoT worse?
I like all the books, personally. There are some story arcs that are more interesting than others, but I like them all.
@RitaThe Shadow Rising is one of my favorite books in the series. I love the Aiel.
Enjoy!
@Kat
With all the complaints I've come across while reading reviews, during the time where I wasn't sure if committing to such a long series was a good idea (it definitely was a good idea), I was really worried about the last few books. An alarming number of readers abandoned the series after the first 7-8 books, saying that the story became boring and repetitive. I honestly don't see it though. I mean, sure, the story is slowing down right now (I'm on Winter's Heart), but I don't think it's repeating itself and it's definitely not boring to me. Events are always in motion and characters are always evolving. As you said, some story arcs are more interesting than others, but they are all enjoyable, I think.
I'm pretty much addicted to WoT right now..." Welcome to the WoT Anonymous Group. The big difference between this and AA: we aren't trying to get off the books, but read them more and more.Yesterday I gave in and finally re-read one of my favorite parts in The Great Hunt - when they all get back together in Cairhenin and Rand starts taking charge automatically, then everyone just looks at him and he realizes what he was doing. I love those types of character moments, even more so than action scenes. (Though I like those, as well.)

Indeed!
I love those moments too, even though the great battle at the end of TGH is my favorite part of the book. I think it's when I fell in love with the series.

If it's your first read you should tuff it out, it's not a bad book it's just not a page turner, but a lot of stuff happens that will become important later in the series

Not at all. New spring is good because you already know the characters and themes involved. I wouldn't recommend it as the book to start with if you haven't read any of the others, but if you have it's a great insight into what was happening around the time Rand was born.

I've been doing my 're-listen' the past month or so. Just bought my first house and its needed a lot of work. I've had the audiobooks playing while I've been spackling, painting, cleaning, etc. Even playing in the rented moving trucks while moving our stuff.Sadly only when its just me. My wife isn't a fantasy or audiobook fan. Its helped me keep sane with all this work though!

HA! i'm right there with y'all too, but it's my HUSBAND that just doesn't get it! ;)
Doing a full re-read beginning January 2013, starting with "New Spring". I have the first 11 books, will pick up the remaining ones when I get there. ;) Still remember when I first read "Eye of the World" back in 1990/91. I wasn't really into it until the Trollocs first attacked--then it was no sleep till I finished! :)
I definitely plan to do a re-read in 2013. I feel like I've been waiting forever - I started reading the series in 1995, and didn't sleep much until I had read all 5 books that were out at that point. Then I re-read the whole thing every time a new book was released - until 2005 when I read the last book Jordan wrote himself. When he died, I decided to wait for the end before continuing. I just couldn't take the torture at that point! So there will be 3 brand new fresh books for me to devour in one gulp next year, and I'm so excited. But now that it's actually ending, I don't want to finish it too fast. I might have to save it up.
Started reading The Shadow Rising today. It never fails, I start to read these, and I just can't put them down. I always notice new things, new connections, new details. Such a wonderful world RJ created for us!!!!
I reread the entire series for the 4th time!! Been a ritual for me since Crossroads of Twilight. Finished Towers of Midnight few days back. Got my AMOL preordered and cant wait to get my hands on it.
I'm 44% thru Lord of Chaos, and I can tell I'll be avoiding the internet like the plague for fear of spoilers until I read AMOL.
AMOL is out, beware of spoilers everyone! Please start a new thread clearly labeled AMOL discussion w/ spoilers for those of us who can't participate yet! Thank you, and enjoy!
I'm finally finishing my marathon re-read of books 1-11 today! So excited to begin Gathering Storm for the first time. I saved up the last three books for this, but now it feels gluttonous to have 3 whole new books to read. Can't wait!
I did a full re-read of the entire series (minus New Spring) just to read AMOL. I finished them all about a week ago. It's bittersweet to finally have them all read. I may have to read AMOL again in the next few weeks.
I'm about halfway through Book 2 on my re-read. I finished AMOL, went through a period of mourning, (which hasn't quite ended yet), read a few other short books, and then not a week later I had started listening to Eye of the World again TvTI love this series so much.
I am re reading this awesome series because I wanted to read the newer books I missed when I became distracted from waiting on the next book by life. However, when I picked up the books I haven't read yet, I realized I couldn't recall some of the major story points, including characters...Shows what a 10+ year break will do! Now I'm on Shadow Rising and the series is just as amazing now as it was the first time!
