Kyle I'm sorry. I tried to stop myself, I really did. But I figure since it's so relevant, and... well heck, there's one for everything, right? Might as well just go with it.

Bettie Just finished Gabriela, Clove and Cinnamon last night so have spent my morning coffee time looking at maps and reading up on the author, who travelled to the Soviet Union, winning the Stalin Peace Prize in 1951:

From wiki:The International Lenin Peace Prize was the Soviet Union's equivalent to the Nobel Peace Prize, named in honor of Vladimir Lenin. It was awarded by a panel appointed by the Soviet government, to notable individuals whom the panel indicated had "strengthened peace among peoples". It was founded as the International Stalin Prize for Strengthening Peace Among Peoples, but was renamed the International Lenin Prize for Strengthening Peace Among Peoples as a result of destalinization. Unlike the Nobel Prize, the Lenin Peace Prize was usually awarded to several people a year rather than to just one individual.

Bettie Have started a little earlier than planned as I will be away for a few days next week. Am finding it easy to read however it is tough to get one's head around the facts, no matter how many times they are encountered.

It is, isn't it? Though, actually, it's only where i have my 'net domain... but you know how it is these days with bricks and mortar stores. They don't usually carry this kind of book unless you're at a big branch.

I buy most of my books online these days, and unless there's a big sale on, most of my bricks and mortar purchases are made form used bookstores which have always been a special treat for me to visit. I never come away from one of those without a few unexpected treasures under my arm. :)
