My son also recommended Brandon Sanderson's The Way of Kings which is the first book in a new series.

@Natalia: I've added The Last Wish to my list just the other day!

@Joanie: From what I read, the series becomes less enjoyable around book 7 or 8. People say that those few books are incredibly slow, and not much happens. The last books are actually some of the best in the series, according to reviews. I've come across people suggesting reading book summaries instead of dropping the series, if you find them too slow, because the final books are amazing.
The first book was pretty great, and the second one, which I am currently reading, is even better so far.
I'm a fan of long books and long series, so I'm happy for now.

I've read only five books. I can say that the first couple has a good plot and I like them. From the third book the saga starts to be more prolix. Fifth book doesn't flow. There's something that slows the entire story. For me is difficult to explain better. That's all I can say 'til now.

Merlin Trilogy
There are 3 books or you can get them in one volume.
The books are The Crystal Cave, The Hollow Hills and The Last Enchantment. Any library should have them.

@Gibbon91: Thanks fo..."
You're quite welcome, and I agree. So far there's plenty of action though, and the characters are really likeable. I can see myself reading a couple of slower books for the sake of the story.

I thought about reading "The Tower of the Hand" but I fear I will be disappointed?

I love them all. It's my favorite series, actually. There are bits here and there that are a bit slower, but taken as a whole, the series is enchantingly wonderful. Let me know if you want to know anything more detailed; I'm a member of Dragonmount.com, which is one of the top fan sites for Wheel of Time^_^ You're welcome to come poke around there, talk to some more people. I'm about to start a re-read of WoT myself, in preperation for the release of the last book in January.
