Getting Amazon to lower your book's price

Does anyone know what to do with this? My book is currently listed as free on amazon.co.uk but not on amazon.com! I tried contacting kdp and they responded basically saying they could do whatever they like and it's up to them to decide whether to price match or not.

Has this happened to anyone else?

From what I have seen, the only thing you can do is get on this list and ask people to "report a lower price" on the US Amazon, using the UK amazon free listing or B&N, Kobo, etc... as a reason to price match. If enough people do this, most times they will price match.

Got yours, Bob. I think I've just about given up on mine going free. It's been three weeks now, and my free promotion elsewhere will be ending in a week or so.

I don't think making a book free on Amazon through price matching is ever controllable enough to use with promotions. My experience is that it can take anywhere from a 3-4 weeks to 3-6 months. I had one book it would never work with.

And even once you have it free there, it can go off free for periods of a week or so for no apparent reason. So it's only worth bothering with if you want to make a book free on a semi-permanent basis.

I uploaded it to Smashwords and allowed them to distribute it to B&N. That's the only way I know of!
