09/15/2016 Edit: I've now had to blacklist this author due to her fans harassing me with her encouragement.

Original review:

Are you freaking kidding me here? This can't be serious... Okay, even non-Americans should take issue with this in a post-9/11 world.

YOU are the main character, whose name I've already forgotten - no offense. Imagine you're on a plane, luxuriating in first class as you usually do. There are two men in pilot uniforms sharing first class with you. In the middle of the flight

The Legacy of the Key is a healthy dose of otherworldly goodness. This is the first book in the Ancient Guardians series where we get to meet Reece Bryant, a normal human from planet Earth who leads a normal human life, until she is dragged along to another dimension where she learns she is the Key to the location of a stone powerful enough to destroy many other worlds or dimensions out there. If she falls in the hands of the wrong people, everything would end badly, including for Earth.

I received this book free from the author in exchange of an honest review. I thought the book was excellent. It is a clean science-fiction romance, but not as sci-fi as you might imagine. The characters are all mostly humans even though they travel through different dimensions. I found the suspense to be good and the characters were very easy to get to know and like or dislike as the case may be. I find myself wondering about the characters and how they will move forward in the future books.

In The Legacy of the Key, the first book in the Ancient Guardians series, by S.L. Morgan, Reece Bryant and Levi Oxley are from two different worlds…literally. Reece may seem like your average human from Earth, until she meets Levi, who introduces her to the beautiful land he is from and makes her realize that she is more special than she ever realized, in more ways than one. Not only does she learn about the different worlds and dimensions she never knew existed, but she also soon falls in love ...more

Wow! This book was amazing! It was full of details, adventures, surprises, and romance. The author weaved words together to create a world of mystery, romance, and the unknown. This book is worth reading many times over and I'm grateful I won it! I'd definatley recommend this book if you like romance and fantasy!

Sci-fi meets Historical in a wonderful blend.
This story takes off rather fast. The pace is steady and tons of action.
I even loved the romance part of the book....although that part did progress SLOWLY.
The characters are different. Well defined and plot orientated.
Reece is wonderfully crafted. She is very relate-able.
Levi, however,, is my favorite character. Cute, dignified, and caring.Prince Charming by far.
Harrison is like the comic relief of the story...quick wit and laughter makes him a great

Well, I didn't all out hate it. However I've read much better fantasy, much better action and much better young adult-ish genre books. It was a lot of of talk and not even close to enough show. Scenes went on way too long. Pages and pages of characters telling our less exciting than a pool noodle "heroine" (using the term loosely, because she did NOTHING) that she deserved explanations and would get explanations at some point. In the future. Maybe. Eventually. When we did finally get what I thin ...more

This book was just the thing for me. Action, sci-fi, fantasy, and a little romance to balance it out... I'm extremely excited for the next books!
The author's niece lent me her copy of the book, telling me that even though I don't read romance type books often she was certain I'd love it. She was right - I was sucked in right from page one! It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I definitely enjoyed it.
The ideas are all very clever, and the complete originality of it was amazing. I've read a lo

A couple of weeks ago I was fortunate enough to come across Ancient Guardians by S. L. Morgan. The book has a unique concept which blends classic 17th century romantic fiction with Avatar like imagery in a universe populated by multiple parallel dimensions. The author navigates with unerring ease between 17th century type romantic settings, 21st century action and pure science fiction, and has skilfully integrated this eclectic mix into a great story. The combination of fantastic imagery, attent ...more

Great book! Loved the other worlds/dimensions. The adventures of Harrison, Levi, and Reece are wonderful. Can't wait for the sequel!

I have never cared for time travel nor space travel or dimension travels but I must confess this one is awesome. I would recommend it to anyone. The reason I gave it four stars is because it took it a little while to get started well. I'm sure the Uninvited will be better. I can hardly wait to read it next!

5 stars!!! Categorized as YA fantasy/paranormal, Ancient Guardians has everything one could hope for when looking for a more than satisfying read (the "paranormal" is of the extraterrestrial sort for those sci-fi lovers!). Its vivid, mysterious, beautiful, clever, thrilling and altogether majestic.

Do you enjoy losing yourself in fantastic worlds full of wonders? Do you like the feel of adrenaline racing through your veins when pursu

I really enjoyed the challenge of writing this debut novel for the Ancient Guardians novel series.
As a new author, my greatest fear is that someone will perhaps purchase this book or read it and it not be what they were expecting. This is why I sought out reviews from bloggers and I have been very fortunate to receive very descriptive reviews from other readers to help readers decide whether or not this series is for them.

I want to use my review to make potential readers aware that the first fiv

I’m usually not very fond of books where there’s some sort of “chosen one” who has special powers and can defeat the evil lurking in the shadows of the world/realm/planet/whatever. Reece, the main character in The Legacy of the Key, is the key to a map which leads to a powerful artifact, which instantly makes her a special little cupcake. However, I wasn’t too bothered with that this time around. Reece is a great heroine,

Beautiful story. At first there was action happening and secrets what keep you guessing what's next and this makes you to eagerly turn pages. Book easily grabbed my attention and kept me reading further.

Later on there was less of action and story became slower. But still I found it interesting to read how Reece managed to deal with an unusual situation she was in. I think it's because it was easy to picture myself in her place having similar questions and choices. And also it was believable w

This book reminded me of the Kricket series by Amy Bartol. Reece and Kricket are both living their lives on Earth when they are rescued after an abduction attempt. While Kricket fought both groups "rescuing" her, Reece went willingly with Levi and Harrison with little attempt at finding out what was going on.

When Reece travels to an alternate dimension similar to earth, she finds out she is a key. Her ancestors knew where a stone is that's important and it's implanted in her mind. The

Reece is your typical college student, dealing with classes and unfortunately, her father's passing. At least that is what she thinks anyway. She is heading to San Diego to finish up things on her father's estate, when she notices two handsome young men at the airport, and then they are on her plane, which ends up having trouble and returning to Philadelphia. She later notices them again while out with friends, and while out on a run they save her from being abducte
This was a clever book that answers the question “what if we are not alone in the universe?” In this story, an alien species tries to take over the Earth, which is where we got Atlantis. The reason Atlantis sank was that a clever earth scientist created a gem that destroyed the enemy and sank Atlantis. Then he hid the stone and created a map in that would exist in the minds of his ancestors, but could not readily be accessed by his ancestors. Now thousands of years later, his last surviving desc ...more

This book was really bad. I couldn't even finish it it was that bad. I pushed as far as I could but the stilted language and extra descriptive wording was boring and irritating to read. (Jack sure does have some entertaining and relaxing humor!) The story wasn't good enough to distract me from the language so I finally called it a day. You can even tell where the author left off from writing and then came back later and picked up again. The editing is good and it's well formatted which is so rar ...more

Great read

Great read

normally not a big fan of romance, but there is so much more to this book! other dimensions, what feels like time travel, the well rounded would be a disservice to the author and then book to call it just a romance novel. Not since "The discovery of witches" by Debra harmless, has a book kept me up all night just to see what happens next. I need part 2 now.......Thank you for this great story!

It is my understanding that this story has won several awards. Well, that's nice. However, I have to say that I'm out of tune with the award givers. Any time I find myself concentrating on the glaring clunkers in grammar and syntax rather than the story is a bad omen for the book. Unfortunately, I found myself editing rather than reading. Which is a shame. The author did not lack for imagination. Her story had promise. I'd like to see this author write a lot more with the assistance of a tough, ...more
