Todd | 16 comments I was wondering what to do in such a case as this: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3119081.Palace_Walk_series. I've labelled it NOT A BOOK for now.

I've seen this kind of thing before. The person has, rather than going to the trouble of entering a series of books that they've read, just entered the series as a book that isn't really a book.

It seems to me that this particular person, who is an author, was quickly trying to get up their number of books to 50, in order to achieve librarian status, and hasn't added a book since.

Is it different for authors?

Authors automatically get librarian status, regardless of the number of books they have shelved.

And the book really does exist as the trilogy. There were a few problems with how it was entered: the author was entered improperly; the trilogy already existed in the system; the trilogy has another name. So I merged the author with the correct one, combined the book, and deleted it.

Anyway, there's no need to NOT A BOOK a record without an ISBN. Deleting them works fine.

Good point. That's what I do as well.
