Welcome Aoife. Lots of fans of Golden Age mysteries here. If you are looking for new authors who write like the classics check out Jacqueline Winspear and the Maise Dobbs series, Alan Bradley and the Flavia de Luce series, and the new book by James Runcie Sidney Chambers and the Shadow of Death

I'm also a big fan of Carola Dunn and her Laidy-Daisy books...I think I went through half the series since the bginning of this year.

I just discovered Elizabeth George (oddly enough recommended by a Danish friend) and all the Golden Age stuff like Sayers. So I too appreciate those recommendations, Donna, thanks!

Another new member here. I'm from Germany, currently studying English
for probably far too long alreadyand I love crime-novels and detective-stories (thrillers not so much). I love Elizabeth George's Lynley-mysteries, Mankell and have recently (re)discovered my love for the Golden Age and am working my way through Dorothy Sayers. I also love Sherlock Holmes (generelly if it's written/set before the 1939s there's a good chance that I'll enjoy it).
