Anna | 1680 comments LOL. Martin is good at dramatic irony. I really liked that book. so much stuff in it :P keeps lips tightly shut!

message 202: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments I so knew Robb was going to die... I expected Cat to die last book. But well. 3 down 4/5 to go? (lol counting Stark death's). I am not really all that saddened by the death's though. Robb was stupid, and Cat died better than both her husband and son... Everyone keeps saying to grab my tissues cause a lot of favorites die... So far my favorites are alive. LOL The only time I was sad was that brief second I thought Bran died, but you know. :)

Now I'm waiting for Joffery's death... I hope someone smushes that smug and creepy grin of his face. (Props to the actor on tv)

message 203: by Eyehavenofilter (new)

Eyehavenofilter | 86 comments Robb had to pay for his bad judgement, just like, his Father. ( Damn I still tear up about that one) but I won't give away any thing else till everyone catches up... Hurry up people....!
I just saw some deleted scenes from season 2 which would have cleared up a few questions for the TV audience. Very creepy strangulation scene, eww.
Can't wait for Jeorrery's wedding! ( y'all know what I'm talking about) muuhahahaha ha!

message 204: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments I think I'm the only one reading :) and yeah Robb paid for it. Like father like son.

message 205: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments The Starks make the mistake of thinking everyone else's is honourable like they are. Even when they say that someone shouldn't be trusted, they still treat them as honourable people. Like Ned warning Cersei in A Game of Thrones that he was going to tell everyone who the father of her children was. I mean, come on!!!! Why, Ned, why?

message 206: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments That's why I like Arya, she doesn't trust anyone. lol

message 207: by Zeenat (last edited Mar 17, 2013 02:45PM) (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments Joffery!?!?! He hurt (view spoiler) that came out of left field.

Anddddd... (view spoiler)

message 208: by Anna (last edited Mar 17, 2013 05:26PM) (new)

Anna | 1680 comments I'm not so sure about Arya; I still think she would get taken in. Her fantasy is still under the surface I feel.

@Lanniater 'why Ned Why' agreed! And Robb is similar - its a heavy price to pay for love. As for the Lannister's role in all of that... bloody Cersei! I should have guessed.
Just waiting for her moment now. Have taken a break before I read the last 2 books, but surely its coming!

message 209: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments Holy freakin crazy ass shit Batman! That book was awesome! Comments:

(view spoiler)

Interesting foreshadowing and drawing parallel's. That's why these books take me so long to read, because I try to analyze every detail. LOL! But those are my thoughts. Oh, and my favorite quote:

“I bet this is a brothel,” she whispered to Gendry.
“You don’t even know what a brothel is.”
“I do so,” she insisted. “It’s like an inn, with girls.”

" I second those emotions" ( singing)

message 211: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments LOL Zeeant, now you know why I didn't want to say too much about anything earlier, in case I accidentally slipped up and revealed something I shouldn't! Storm is the best book of the series, in my opinion. It goes downhill a bit from here (though it perks up again at the end of Dance with Dragons).

(view spoiler)

I have so many thoughts but I haven't time to type them all!

message 212: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments LOL Lanister!

(view spoiler)

message 213: by Arushi (new)

Arushi | 3652 comments @Zeenat - I loved your speculation. It makes me wanna agree coz it sounds actually nice. Which is so rare in these books. (view spoiler)

message 214: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments as far as Tyrion/Sansa (view spoiler)

Gendry/Arya (view spoiler)

message 215: by Eyehavenofilter (new)

Eyehavenofilter | 86 comments I would love Arya with Gendry.
I would love Sansa with almost anyone except Littletwistedfinger. ( my own special nickname for Lord Balish)

message 216: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments Eyehavenofilter wrote: "Littletwistedfinger. ( my own special nickname for Lord Balish)"

On the Song of Ice and Fire podcast, they refer to him (at least, the TV version of the character) as Middlefinger. That cracks me up every time!

message 217: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments well he certainly knows how to screw and f*** people (over)!

message 218: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments LOL, very true. He's a sneaky so-and-so! I hope Varys totally outwits him in the end.

Who do we think is smarter and more devious? Littlefinger or Varys?

message 219: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments Littlefinger, cause I think he is more selfish. He will stoop to lower levels than Varys.

message 220: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments Hmmm, I dunno. I think my money's on Varys. He's got an endgame in mind that he's working towards (though I'm not entirely certain what it is - I don't believe what he says). Littlefinger has something of a chip on his shoulder because he was always the poor cousin and not from a particularly noble family. I think this'll trip him up in the end.

Hey, Varys is the Marlowe of ASOIAF! Of course he's the sneakier! :D

message 221: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments That's true. Varys is definitely bigger picture, And littlefinger is greedy and upward mobile.

message 222: by Arushi (new)

Arushi | 3652 comments Zeenat wrote: "That's true. Varys is definitely bigger picture, And littlefinger is greedy and upward mobile."

agreed. I still think Varys's end game juts might be the good of the kingdom.

Working up to starting Dance with Dragons!

message 226: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments (view spoiler)

I really hope Arya will have some version of a happy ending for her. To me, she's the most central character, out of the politics yet still the one driving the story. Maybe I just want to be her when I grow up... or grow little... or.... errr...

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments Starting a Feast for Crows :)

message 231: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments Yay, can't wait to hear what you think. Lots of lovely Jaime to enjoy. And Cersei.

message 232: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments Who are all these random people? The first two chapters... Then I read Cersei who I just hate even more. I thought I might sympathize with her POV, nope.

message 233: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments Ha no, I don't think you'll come to sympathise with Cersei, but you may come to love to hate her.

I hate the Iron Islanders.

Also, I came across this site today and this is disturbing on so many levels...

message 234: by Anna (new)

Anna | 1680 comments @ Lannister Oh dear...
@ Zeenat What ever made you think you might sympathise with her? *Scratches head* You're far too nice Zeenat!

message 235: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments well whenever you get stories from a specific pov, you get their feelings and motivations, and there is always layers. But Cersei's layers still suck. I get that she was born into a world where she could have led if she wasn't a woman, but big woop do da. Then you should have been like Dany.

And that link is so very disturbing!

message 236: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments Damphire? I can't be the only one that noticed that wording... adjust the spelling... ??

message 237: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments Isn't it Damphair? (I presume you're talking about the iron islander priest guy??)

I suspect I'm a complete doofus, but when I read it originally I pronounced it as damfair (taking the 'ph' to have an 'f' sound). It was only on second read that I figured out it was meant to be damp-hair (i.e. wet hair). Duh!

message 238: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments that is what I meant. lol I don't know why i spelled it that way. But yes! Damp hair! lol I loved that!

message 239: by Eyehavenofilter (new)

Eyehavenofilter | 86 comments Damp hair Lolololol!im sorry I'm a little slow!
That link , I think, is because of the lack of education displayed by the Biebster when he visited The Anne Frank museum.....( that boy needs a tutor) he obviously has had no home schooling past the 6 th grade. It's sad really, that some one could be that famous and that ignorant.

message 240: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments Zeenat, I think Dory was floating about your sub-conscience somewhere when you wrote that LOL!

Ada-Lee, yeah, I read about that Anne Frank thing. Honestly, you'd think his PR people would sit on him or something, to stop him shooting his mouth off.

message 241: by Arushi (new)

Arushi | 3652 comments What did he say abt Anne Frank? Plus... I wonder abt education in general these days. Ppl are so worried abt the kids feelings, they'd rather not point out mistakes- a teacher said this regarding my boss's son. She was not happy. She'd rather have him learn- weird how that is rare now...

I doubt he meant to be insensitive or offensive, but he just didn't think. Whether he's incredibly dumb or incredibly self-obsessed, I don't know. Probably both. He's another Michael Jackson level of crazy in the making.

Prolly why Selena Gomez ran like her hair was on fire!
That would terrify me too!

message 244: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments If he was still 14 and said that, it would have been more excusable, but he's how old now? 19? Some people need a filter...

message 247: by Arushi (new)

Arushi | 3652 comments Thanks for the link Lannister. Yeah... my opinion of his intelligence dropped off the cliff with that.

message 248: by Zeenat (new)

Zeenat (zeekwon) | 6376 comments I have a love hate relationship with this book. it was really boring in the beginning... but it has gotten interesting in the last few chapters.

I find it fascinating that Arya is struggling being no one when Sands ha become Alayne...

message 249: by Lannister (new)

Lannister (lannisteruk) | 10911 comments So who's watching the show this season?? I was feeling a little jaded with it early on and I didn't feel as engaged as previous years, but I must admit last night's episode was really, really good. I loves Jaime!! His scene with Brienne was really well done. I hope the show is only going to get better from now on.

And, apparently, Jon Snow does know something .... :P

message 250: by Michelle (new)

Michelle | 761 comments I'm watching the show. I haven't seen last night's episode yet, I should get around to watching it tomorrow night.
