SOLVED. Christian Book series about EMP hitting the US. [s]

I read this book around 2004, and it was a series that had not yet been completed. It followed a family (dad, mom, adult daughter, teenage son, and middle school aged son) as they dealt with all the electricity going out in the world. Basic plot was how to be a good Christian in a hard time and dealing with a completely different way of life than expected. It definitely was a Christian novel, as the family started their own church during the end of the world as we know it. Opening scene was the daughter and dad just leaving the airport and getting to their car when planes start to crash and their car will not start. The daughter is engaged to be married and planning her wedding with her mom. I think the daughter lived in DC and the family lived in the south. They lived in a subdivision and the family was trying to organize the neighborhood to work together to survive. Some people, the preppers, did not want to help out and were dealt with in the story later... They had a neighbor who had cancer and needed chemo and a neighbor who was a single mom with 3 young kids including one in diapers. They went to a Walmart after the event and actually the Walmart took a check! They were draining the local pond for water and they had to watch their house all day and night. I remember random bits, just not the name or the author. If you need more random bits, I can help with that.
