NOPE - NOT PLAYING THIS AGAIN

I've played Penumbra (same guys who made Amnesia); but never got too far; that wolf thing that follows you around PISSES ME THE FUCK OFF.
Haven't played Amnesia for some reason, gotta play it.
Slender is fun as hell, albeit a bit slow.
I love indie horror games. Check out Imscared, VERY awesome game that breaks the 4th wall.

F.E.A.R. and Dead Space are like... the two least scary "scary" games. I'm playing through the first FEAR right now, it's basically just run and gun with some spooky moments here and there. *shrugs*
I've played through most of both Dead Space 1 and 2, but have never beat them for some godforsaken reason. I think I get bored and just end up uninstalling them.

Heh, I hear you on that. Bioshock is one of the most immersive and intense games ever; one of the best games of all time for sure. Bioshock 2 however... is complete garbage. I still can't believe it even exists, it's so bad.
PRETTY FUCKING EXCITED for Bioshock Infinite though, looks killer, it's definitely a true sequel.
You should check out SystemShock; what Bioshock is a spiritual sequel to.

I went on a PlayStation rom spree not to long ago, collecting every horror game I possibly could for that system. The battle system in Koudelka was mind-numbing, I couldn't get into it.
Maybe I should try again? People who loved it say it's one of the best and gets pretty deep.

Silent Hill 4 was meant to be a separate game called "The Room"- many people still like it, despite for some flaws. This was Team Silent's last SH game.
Homecoming was made by an American Team and changed the dynamics of the game, I didn't care for it.
Origins was pretty bad too, but more like the first three games.
Haven't played Downpour, but I've heard good things.
If only Team Silent could make a TRUE Silent Hill game. :(
I actually met Akira Yamaoka at the Hollywood Premier of Silent Hill Revelations 3D a few months ago. I won tickets and went, it was PRETTY FUCKING AWESOME.
Just finished Fatal Frame 1. Pretty intense game, no idea in HELL how you're supposed to actually capture every ghost that pops out.

Just finished playing Corpse Party -Rebuilt-
Got the A ending... without knowing there were multiple endings. I'm kind of pissed because the other endings seem more depressing and would leave you with a more grim feeling after completing the game.
Anyhow, it was great, if only I had a PSP to play the rest of the series!

To be honest, I never finished Koudelka either. I've been meaning to for years. There's something special about the game in spite of the horrible battle system. Maybe it was the headless dancing ballerinas or the fact your party can die horribly in the final battle.

Most of the classics have already been mentioned here.
I really enjoyed Alan Wake for the X-Box 360.
It wasn't the most scary game ever made but it was still a really good spooky game with a fantastic story.

Which systems do you own? I have a 360 and a PS3.

My gamertag is gabrielzer0 <-- with the number zero at the end.
I play mostly horror games, but I'm always up for a new co-op game.

Defiance is a free to play MMO on the 360.
With all the recent updates the game isn't bad.

I think you would like this article regarding Dead Space 4:

I agree with the user who said this:
1. They need to introduce a new aspect of it's mythos, and possibly add a new gameplay mechanism.
2. Keep the best parts of the three earlier installments, like the general gameplay, enemies, puzzles and the weapons workbench.
3. Then introduce a new main character in a setting that we haven't yet been introduced to in Dead Space universe. Heck, it doesn't have to be in closely after, or right before any of the installments. For what is to be seen, these necromorphs have been around for millions of years, and I don't think they will disappear for at least another million. They should go to another era in this dystopian future and dish up some new or old technology.
4. Isaac or something else very vital to the series should be referenced or hinted at repeatedly, yet in a subtle way. Kind of like they reference the different installments of Bioshock in Burial at sea.

>The Forest
>Five Nights at Freddy's (2)
>Outlast
>Alien: Isolation
>The Evil Within
>Silent Hills
A lot of recently released and upcoming horror games are on the horizon, and still plenty of old or obscure games to get spooked at. Anyone play anything lately that caused them to shit their pants?

Probably one of my favorite lists on the internet.
Horror/Mindfuck/NOPE games.
As a horror aficionado, I dabble in everything. Video games, however, give a an added experience to horror. The stimulation of CONTROLLING a person in horror, almost as if you're there, gives added depth. Books... don't really frighten me, as my imagination can stop working at any second. Films can have some scares, if they're directed right, but I mostly laugh.
Video games can scare the living shit out of me, and I always crave for more.
What's everyone's favorite horror game? Silent Hill seems to be the most popular, with Doom and Resident Evil not far behind.
I write for a horror-based video game website called RelyonHorror.com, I suggest you checking it out if you're interested in all things horror. I've been planning on bringing a lot more horror into the website besides just video games, especially in book category.
