If he could shadow travel to get out. Why didn't he get out that way in Mark of Athena?

What I am worried about is the fall. According to mythologteny it would
take ten days two fall from Hades to Tartarus. Tartarus has no air so according to the laws of gravity Percy and Annabeth
would hit at a speed of 847200m/s the impact from their fall would be like a nuclear bomb.
The six need to save them before the nine days.

Ughh...i agree...but if that is true...wow...
But if you think about it, even if their friends manage to get there within nine days, Percy and Annabeth would still be falling all this time and unless they found some way to stop their fall without crushing themselves, even if they caught them or even slowed them down some...they would still fall at the least of 700000m/s and that is still a deathly fall.
If Percy still had his powers from swimming in the Styx River he could've had a small chance of survival as long as he didnt fall on his lower back-his Achilles heel.
He would have to position himself to protect Annabeth too...although i dont think she will be able to survive the fall at all (sorry Annabeth!)
Plus you have to think about the piece of rock or whatever was dragging her (annabeth) down when she first slid in, that would add mass to their weight, although it would not make them go any faster it would make the fall harder...and considering they are getting closer to the Earth's core...they would fall even faster...
Conclusion: There is technically no logical reason that they will survive...
Consider:
>This is fiction
>This is Tartarus we are talking about
>They may fall into water (if there is any down there) which is sort of worse than the ground...

oh gawd O.O that's probably what's going to happen O.O and is it unlikely that the demigods have about a weeks deadline??? but the fact still remains that anne and percy need to get to the bottom of there and close the gates before...what was it? august first? yeahh that, sooooo i think the ten days will still play into the book but after that time is up then what?

This is Tartarus we are talking about here!! Some of most powerful monsters and titans are banished here and i bet you most of them could use water somehow to their ability, yet they cant! Percy couldnt even control the waters around alaska because they were technically "out of bounds"...Did i mention this is Tartarus we are talking about here!! Hades himself has very little power over this place...and i dont think even the strongest demigod could control this place, i bet you not even a minor god would have any control. Tarturus is ancient, even before the Gods and titans, it was there!

But if you think about it in a different way, Tartarus can be like heaven, no matter how far you go up all you reach is space, so Tartarus is more of a different dimensional place, that you can only enter through different places, like Arachnid's shrine or the house of hades, so it would have its own rules on gravity and stuff. There are many possibilities if you think of it like that...Gosh i hope RicK R. finishes the book soon...im going to go insane!! :)

There is no light in tartarus. As erebus is trapped there by hades. Every day Nyx goes in to tartarus and comes out during the night. During the day Himera godess of day comes out of tartarus and returns there at night. So
during nightfall percybeth may get some light.
Typhoon is in Tartarus, not to mention Giga is Tartaru's lover.

Percy and Annabeth will not fall to their deaths, they cants it would just ruin the happy ending that Rick has worked so hard to create! Also frank still needs to make a sacrifice that Percy can't make- I believe that's how the line goes- and Leo is still the seventh wheel, and we've barely seen Jason in action and we haven't even got to see the other half of everyone's journey! We only sore Percy annabeth Leo and pipers side so in the next book I believe we will see Jason hazel frank and maybe even Nicos side to the story, though I do hope we get a bit of info on Percy and annabeth in the Pitt of doom!
I say we look on the bright side, annabeth and Percy can't die. They are the main characters, Rick wouldn't let them die, I imagine they are his favorites considering the Percy Jackson series. And he's gonna get a lot if angry fan mail if he does kill them off so if I were him I'd just wanna make us all sweat but and with a happily ever after!
Maybe one of the others might die, I'm guessing frank cos hazel can still hang around him in the afterlife and she was also given a second chance at life, but that may have an expiry date to it. and that is a bit more happier than anyone else dying and never seeing that loved one again.
Rick is a great author and we need to trust he will do the right thing and let everyone live happily ever after.

There are two more books coming so its only reasonable!!

Rick Riordan is not a bloody author. There is no such thing as oversmart. SO what she had a crush on Luke first? She didn't go after Percy just because he killed a couple bloody monsters! And Rachel was never meant for Percy.

i agree with thomas on the first part but he is not a bloody author rick is the best author I've whom i've read books from.

For Rick to do that, it would have taken twice as long for both the Mark of Athena and the House of Hades to come out, as he'd have to write both of them before releasing them. I don't know about you, but I want to have the new books as soon as they're written! If you just want to read the books one after the other, then you wait until Rick has finished the whole series and read them all then.

What is wrong with being ambitious and clever? Those are two positive attributes.

Well clever and moronic are opposites so that makes no sense, therefore I didn't feel the need to include that one. Also, 'a leech' isn't an adjective.

How can a person be clever and moronic? how can a person be smart and dumb at the same time? Can they be ugly and pretty at the same time? Can they be tall and short at the same time?
