Okay, this has been killing me! If Percy and Annabeth shut the doors from the tartarus side, and the others shut it from the other side, won't Percy and Annabeth get locked in!?

i think one peron would have to stay behind:(but i'm sure that they could find a way to get that person back:)
I agree with Melissa. Maybe Nico could close the doors and get saved by his dad somehow.
My friend had this prediction (she recently changed it slightly, but I don't remember to what)It was said Percy would have to make a sacrifice he couldn't make, and that Frank would have to do it for him. So she (my friend) thought that maybe while they're closing the doors, Percy and Annabeth still behind them, Frank grabs Percy and pulls him out at the last second because he couldn't leave Annabeth.
Also, they (Percy and Annabeth) kept promising each other they'd never leave each other (An oath to keep with a final breath)... I lost where I was going with this, anyways I said the main part of what I was going to say!
That all sounds so sad! :(

Omg i didn't think of that I really hope it's not true, I'll be pissed if it is. I don't know why but i think Nico will be the one to close it from the inside, I'm not sure why though, maybe he knew that Percy was still needed to finish the battle and Annabeth need to bring back the statue, and everyone else have a part to play, and Nico locks himself behind the doors of death because he is Deaths son. I'm not sure if I'm making sense, it's hard to explain and this won't be a good ending whatever way it goes so i don't wanna be right about anything.On the bright side maybe one of the bad guys turns good and decides that they'll close the doors and find their friends.
Maybe Coach Hedge will close them, he didn't have too big a role in the Mark of Athena and he'll be able to kill everything in there....

That's what I was thinking. We all need to remember that Nico is not the only son of Hades/Pluto, so there's a possibility that Hazel ends up doing it.

Haha, no my name is not Hazel, I did it for a group I'm in. and I have to agree, it's a childrens book, (but still AWESOME) and Rick can't make it super sad. Someone unimportant will probably close them.
Maybe someone like Reyna will close them. Or maybe Bianca di Angelo will turn up! We can hope...
I do like Leo and think he would be better for Hazel, but I like Frank a lot too. And I hope he doesn't have to do it.And I hope it's not Reyna, I like her too. I like everyone! Oh well, we'll see.
Maybe frank does it! Cos his stick is running to an end and maybe needs to use his powers to close the doors and as he goes he dies anyway! Than hazel goes back to the afterlife to join him or stays with Leo

It is interesting about the low trio! I love them all and I want them all to be happy up I don't hunk Leo and hazel will get together considering hat Hera said 'you will always be the seventh wheel' so that might be it Leo doesn't get someone! So maybe Leo is the one locked inside

I love Nico as much as the next guy, but don't forget he technically also shouldn't be alive because he and Bianca were trapped inside The Lotus Hotel and Casino for all those years, but I agree, I would rather is be Hazel, I don't mind her, she is way less anoying than Piper, but still, it's Nico we're talking about...<3

true but there is a distinct difference between not aging for a period of time and completely dying and coming back to life.
mhm, well either way, neither of them are supposed to be alive. Well I guess Nico could, but he would be a VERY old man.Well technically just about none of them are supposed to be living. Hazel, Percy, Jason, and Thalia are obviously not supposed to be alive. Nico, Leo, Annabeth and Frank are very VERY lucky to be alive right now, they've each been practically over the edge of death, and well Piper has had it pretty easy so far :P
I predict that Frank will make the sacrifice that Percy couldn't. Since Frank has too many powers for a mortal anyways, maybe he will somehow become a god?

This is all to much for an ending!!! Why didn't he release the next book straight after the mark of Athena!!! You can't leave us on a cliff hanger like that and not even have a blurb in mind for the net book!!!!! The ending made me cry so bad! When Percy won't let annabeth got! And then try drop together!!! Omg why didn't the other guys leave the damn statue and rescue them! Ohhhhhh great I'm crying now!! Bloody hell I can't even think about the ending without getting super upset at everything!!
I never thought about how they get out of tartarus if they're closing the doors. But maybe they convince Hades to do it or someone on that side. I don't know. But they all have to live!
well, i think that Nico will be locked in the Underworld, coz he can shadow-travel out, right?

So long as the sword of hades exists no one will be stuck in Tartarus.What I am worried about is the fall. According to mythologteny it would
take ten days two fall from Hades to Tartarus. Tartarus has no air so according to the laws of gravity Percy and Annabeth
would hit at a speed of 847200m/s the impact from their fall would be like a nuclear bomb.
The six need to save them before the nine days.
