Lea's Audiobooks Hensley (leahensleysaudiobooks) Over the past 2-3 months we have experience tremendous growth. Best I can tell, within that period of time we gained at least 130 new members! Of course, both Brenda and I are very excited about it. Can you tell us how you found Romance Audiobooks?

I know some of our members are reluctant to comment publicly so I welcome personal messages as well.

Many thanks and welcome!

HJ I found you because I somehow came across the website www.audiogals.net and started following it, and a recent post mentioned this group.

I've been trying to remember how I found the website, and I think it was from a techie blog which recommended your post on creating MP3 audiobooks from cassettes.

Taylor Fulks (taylorfulks) I was told about Goodreads by an author friend, Peggy Strack. I joined through that site. I have a tendency to stay with authors and narrators I like, so I'm anxious to get recommendations on other audio favorites. I am thrilled to be a part of this forum.

Brenda Audiobooks Only | 631 comments We're glad you found us Hj and Taylor, new members mean a wider range of audiobook recommendations for us all.

Don't forget to check out our running thread under Newsworthy for Audio Fans >>> Post Your Audiobook Giveaways Here to win free audiobooks.

Both narrators Karen White and Xe Sands have great giveaways going on right now. http://bit.ly/VDSavF

I attended Dragoncon where Felicia Day held a panel on her group "Vaginal Fantasy" where she and others suggest books and host a discussion about them. From there I followed the link to Goodreads where I saw this group. I love audiobooks and even though romance is not the main thing I listen to I do love a good romance! I am eager to see what others are listening to and what they think.

Lee | 484 comments I found you by seeing the Speaking of Audiobooks column on All About Romance (AAR) last year.

Melanie♥ (meliaann) | 157 comments I found you by entering "romance audiobooks" in the Group search box here at GR. I am desperate to find a new audiobook to buy before my BN coupon expires tonight LOL!

Melanie♥ (meliaann) | 157 comments Well, so much for my audio buy....I used the coupon on this cool 3-D puzzle of a globe for my son that I found while browsing the site. It's not like I don't have a dozen audiobooks in my tblt (to be listened to) pile =))

Temperamental Angel | 20 comments I found you by entering 'audiobooks' in the group search box. I'm a newbie in the audiobook world and was a bit frustrated with the very limited amount of internationally published audiobooks (I live in Denmark and only have access to a very small amount of audiobooks compared to the US listeners(on Audible.com)).
So I wanted to see if I was the only one frustrated, and if not, if anyone had found a loophole or something to get around these ridiculous publishing rights

Hmmm yeah sorry... It seems I'm still frustrated... sorry for the triad

Welcome to our romance audiobooks group! The digital rights issue is an aggravating one and I can only attribute it to "newness" of audiobooks/ebooks compared to the age of print publishing. The growth has been tremendous over a short period of time. I deal with it on a number of levels but especially providing review books for our Australian reviewer at Speaking of Audiobooks (and AudioGals). Those rights can limit accessibility one minute and be gone the next.

Do you know if there is greater availability of hard copies (CDs) through sites such as Amazon? If so, I believe we have tutorials for converting hard copies to files for MP3 players. Send me a personal message if you are interested.

well I just checked Amazon for some of the titles that I know are available for the US listeners on Audible, and yes the CDs are available to me, but the prices are absolutely ridiculous (70-90$+shipping, custums fees and import duties to Denmark)

Oh, wow. That's bad. The only other thought I have (although those other fees will still apply) is to check eBay for used hard copies. After the audio has been out for a while, the prices often drop considerably. Hope someone else has a helpful suggestion!
