Reading this made me smile... actually, it made me grin. Really big! ;)
I'm so glad you finally watched and enjoyed it, Caro! :)
And you prefer Colin Firth!! :D
(my grin is getting bigger...)
I felt like that as well Aery! ;)
So pleased that you enjoyed it!! That version is a classic and so worth watching!

yayyy!! thanx :) im happy now too! even though macfayden was still awesome and i adored darcy with him acting still firth was..

Sorry if this question doesn't belong under this topic, I just had to ask for others opinions. I know fanfiction likes to portray Darcy as shy, but I just don't remember thinking that of him when I read the book.

Marren I was wondering about the 'hmmmm' haha
Another MM supporter :)
I agree with you in that I think his pride is far more prominent and implied in PRIDE and prejudice but I definitely believe the shyness is there :)

i thought he was shy so he was mistaken as proud...i think thats in there

Totally agree with you, Caro!! Ehle was so much better! :)

I agree Mo!
I wish I would have been able to experience on the tv when it was first on! It would have been so exciting!

Showing my age now but I could not wait for Sunday to come around - we all have digital tv and Apple Tv etc. so really there is no waiting around for stuff to watch on TV .... and we had no Goodreads where we could rant and rave about Mr Darcy's wet shirt. Yes, I think it is due another look. Have the DVD now but still have the cassette tape somewhere...

I donated my cassettes to "the cause" years ago to someone I was trying to bring over to the JA-side lol DVDs now in possession and watched at least once a year. This is a lot for me considering I don't watch much TV :) Did I see a while back there is a remastered version??
Haha!! Well the inability to rant about the wet shirt is a shame! ;)
And donating to 'the cause' ;) is a good donation. The important question, did it work!?

I don't think Darcy is shy, or arrogant, he just can't find people that he can have conversation with, that's all.
And Darcy is certainly Colin Firth. In addition to other Darcy qualifications, he's got the voice. :) I can't bear to watch 2005 movie, since I watched the 1995 one. Although the reason of it might also be Keira Knightley, I'm not sure, but this is the fact. Colin Firth is Darcy, and Darcy is Colin Firth. :))

I totally agree with everything you said here, Elif! :)

As a period drama fan, it's a nice movie but as a P&P/JA fan, it just annoys me...

Remastered version - mmmm, maybe I should re-write my letter to Santa.
Oh the blue ray edition? I really want it!! Would be better i think.
I agree about Lizzie not telling Jane! She should have shared more! It wouldn't have taken much longer in the film! That was one thing I couldn't abide!

Think I will youtube the pond scene to tide me over until I get to watch it on DVD!

...I mean he is not even half naked and I am still all a flutter!

David Rintoul is my Mr Darcy, though I rather like Laurence Olivier in the role.

I hope so! I haven't seen the girl in years :)
And Mo: "...I mean he is not even half naked and I am still all a flutter!" *sigh* :) ... I just clicked the link. 2.6 million views lol nice!
Though I still love MacFadyen, it is quite nice to have a convert :)
