Colin Firth or Matthew MacFadyen; that is the question?

<3 Macfadyen. *sigh* You are all going to make me watch Colin Firth now aren't you?
Have you not realised this yet? I said I was going to persuade and I have the support of some others by the looks of things!
After thing debate you will have to now! :D

Ahh... but would you tell us if your opinion did change? :P

:D Of course I would! I would of course to no end hate admitting it, but it would not be fair not to tell you. :) However, I very much love the 05 version, so all I am saying is that I do not expect a change. :P
Haha!! I love our debate!
And j am not saying your support for Mac would fade one iota but I believe you would be able to give more credit and praise to Firth's performance having watched it all the way through (it is also nice to see so many more scenes come to life as the series is accurate)
You sounds very much like me. When I was told to watch it, I was like nothing can beat the film! I had also watched clips on YouTube and thought it looked so boring! But then I watched it and fell in love with it! True story!

Hmmmmm, LOL - If I was giving credit and praise to Firth, you know me, I would be bringing in Macfadyen ever twenty seconds just to point out my un-faded support. :D I'm sure it would be nice to see more scenes. :)
I don't doubt that you would, but still! It would be worth it (I have some other reasons to put to you in the message soon!) but are we any closer to persuading?

*Warning* If he really makes you melt, do not listen to this with headphones ;P.
LOL Marren!!
They are moments which will make you melt I am sure (I can think of the in my head) watching it won't make you like MacFadyen any less so you should watch it ;D

I'm with all the Colin Firth fans. :) For basically the same reasons they posted, so I'll refrain from repeating them.
I was watching the proposal - the first time, when he was cruelly snubbed and rejected by Elizabeth - and he was like PERFECT in that scene. Siighhh. *gazes dreamily into the distance*

Caro, Macfadyen makes me melt too, and I've listened to him narrating some of P&P too - I agree with Marren, I listened to it with headphones and I kind of died.
Jo, I totally agree with you. :)
Soph, <3 yes, take comfort in knowing you have made marginal progress in your campaign. And I honestly don't think you will or ever should pick between them!
I won't I'm sure Becca!!
And It is really controversial ;)
And I agree, I think the 1st proposal is perfect (after having seen it all build up in the first half of the series)

Yeah. I think that was the only scene that the director himself said he would have re done - but it was still sweet! And the very end is great!!

I know what I'll do on my day off school, this friday. I shall watch P&P 2008, and P&P 1995. :) I don't remember Macfayden as well as I do Firth...

Wow!! A convert!! Really prefer Firth now?
Glad you enjoyed it! Firth is really great isn't he?
(not taking away from MM though ;) )

I totally agree. They both show both (which I think is also the idea) just it comes off (from some important quotes throughout) that Darcy is the pride and Lizzy the prejudice but there is some of each in each.
Agree about Mac as well :)
And Caro haha. See this is always a huge debate among Janeites!! ;D
