How do I post a general status comment

When I view my list of friends, I've noticed that it's possible to make a general comment under 'status' ( other than a status update for a book which is currently being read). It's probably staring me right in the face but could someone tell me how to do this!!

Carol,

On your "Recent Updates" page, it is right under "Currently Reading," to the lower right.



If you wanted to add a picture, it will take some html.
