Christina I have read this series twice, and I loved it. All I have been seeing is what people didn't like, or what was wrong with the writing....I want to know what did people enjoy about it, because it is nice to know that I am not alone.....

Christine I liked that both Christian and Anna cared enough about each other to try and change, and each knew that the other's change was going to be difficult.

Maria Costantino Christian and Anna love and can't wait for the movie.

Christina Me too. I loved reading about people who really needed to change in order to love and keep one another as well

Jenny Loved the books. Fifty shades is my go to book when I dont have anything new to read, because i loved it so much.

That is one of the things I loved about the series too. People can spark things in us that makes us want to be different. To be better. I love watching this unfold in the story. I also like the playfulness the couple had with each other. It was true love. I'm a sucker for true love. :).

Julie I loved these books (I read them twice). I'm getting really tired of seeing so much negativity. So what if the books were terribly written and the timelines didn't make since. The author did a wonderful job creating characters that popped off the pages and left us wanting more after we finished reading the third book.

I read them about 9 times in 2 months - Loved them. It sparked my 100+ book rampage since November into the world of romance. I still pick it up and read it slowly between books now. I could care less if it has grammar issues. I loved the hell out of it.

Maria Costantino I agree read in between other books.

I have read it 4 times, I loved it each time, cause I found different things each time.. will read over and over. Their love shows truth

Maria Costantino I enjoy it very much. I think it started out he want her one thing end up falling in love with her.

Shannon Marie My sister-in-law got me reading these books. I will admit that I've read all 3 three times. I love the story of Christian and Ana, mostly because I can be a hopeless romantic. I believe that a person can change, if they want to, for love.
I definitely like Christian more, maybe because, I felt like I could relate to him more. Aside from the bondage stuff lol!

Maria Costantino Just think it could of been Kate he would of done this too. Still glad it was Ana.

message 16: by Pam (new) - rated it 4 stars

Pam I agree its my go to book when I have nothing to read and have read it many times. I love Christian and Ana, how they learned that love is always growing.

Kaitlin Johnson I LOVED the books. My favorite parts were the playful bantor in their email conversastions. I would be sitting by my husband reading and burst out laughing. He would look at me like I was crazy bc he called the fifty series my "book porn" and asked what in "that" book could be so funny.

The relationship the two of them had was great. Take out every sex of the series, and it would still be a great story. There was so much more to the characters than a "Dom" and "crazy love struck girl". They had real depth. Fantastic series!

Michelle I fell in love with these books. I have read the 3 books now 10 tens since last October and it jump started my love of romance/erotica/YA reading. I looked at the book as more of a love story of two first loves - although Christian was a bit more messed up.

EL James created a character that just jumped off the pages. I was at first I was shunning the books - 2 co-workers bought it and loved it and then I decided that I could not have a true opinion until I read it. And boy did I read it! Most of the ones who talk the most about the books being horrible are ones who did not fully read them.

I have no problem with someone not liking it after they read it - but to listen to other reviews or read a few chapters then trash it - is wrong. There is a tumblr site called fiftyshadesofwhy - and although the guy is an ass at times, at least he is reading it.

I could care less about grammar issues, my brain skips over most of them anyways. But the overall story was fantastic. It still remains my favorite book, and since I have finished it I have read over 200 books. It will always be my go to book when I am in between stories.

Shannon Marie Michelle, I am currently reading the series for the fourth time. Like you, I skip past most of the grammatical errors. I enjoy reading for the story, I like losing myself in another world! The people who hare these books usually didn't read them or, were so overly focused on what was wrong rather than the storyline. If someone has a different opinion than mine, fine. You like what you want but, don't harp on what I like. If that makes any sense? I think you guys will get the gist of what I'm saying ;)

I used to really use some of Amazon reviews to guide my purchase..but after realizing that the worst reviews always started with:

I never ever do a review, but this was just so bad I couldn't help myself...

Are all mostly people who 1- always review books and 2 - like to complain about grammar and structure to seem smarter than the average bear.

Same to authors who knocked her for the success, most were struggling to get picked up and suddenly were jealous over FSOG's success. There was a huge rant by some author on the huffington post about how much she struggled to become a writer and how unfair it was that EL James had success with a horribly written book. Now I go to goodreads to see if a book is worth reading because most of the negative reviews on amazon are not worth anything constructive.

Maria Costantino The books are worth reading. I never listen what ppl review on book. Will read make up my mind if like I like if not then it my choice...
