Was anyone else totally taken aback by the, um, crazy orgy that took place when Grenouille unleashes his new scent at the execution? That was not what I was expecting to happen in this book at all.I particularly liked Grenouille's inner monologue after everyone's in love with him and he realizes that that isn't what he wanted after all. It's poignant and is, for me, the climax of the story.
YES! That sort of freaked me out and was really weird and unexpected.
I was not expecing that either. I has no idea what his plans were with the scent. I didn't think that he would really be executed but I certainly did not anticipate that type of escape.
