Cold Days

Series to Check Out While Waiting for Cold Days

I was wondering what series other Dresden fans read while they're waiting for their next fix? For me the Felix Castor novels by Mike Carey are pretty good. The Joe Pitt Casefiles by Charlie Huston are good too, but are closer to the horror genre.
I know Cold Days is out now but I have some suggestions for you while you're waiting for the next, next Dresden Files book. Kevin Hearne's The Iron Druid Chronicles, C.E. Murphy's The Walker Papers and Glen Cook's Garret P.I. series. I suggest them because they have one lead character with his/her entourage of magical/non-magical friends and the sarcastic/dry back and forth banter. :)
My favorites are the aformentioned Mike Carey books, the Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch (great police procedural), and the sadly canceled series of Games of Cages books by Harry Connolly (still worth reading the existing three, but they're not detective books like most of the rest!).
I personally found the Iron Druid books poorly written. For Garret and Verus I've read one book and it didn't really grab me, but I'm going to give them a second try when I have time.

A good friend began reading the Dresden Files beginning with book 1 and in book 3 she asked if I remembered a particular conversation, which I didn't. Egads, that was so long ago! So I began reading the series again and find I am enjoying them more than the first time around!
The dresden Files is always good to go back through. The Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne was great too. I just finished the first book of P.N. Elrods Vampire Files and I really enjoyed it.
Thanks everyone, just laid my hands on some of these suggestions ... I heartily recommend Glen Cook's, Garrett PI series as Adria recommended. I almost gave up in the first few pages of the first chapter .. If I remember correctly (long time ago) there was a bar fight with cranky dwarves. Was sounding so cliché. I kept reading as I knew Glen Cook from the Black Company which is one of the greatest epic fantasy series’s ever. Glad I did.

Check out the Alex Verus novels by Benedict Jacka, very Dresden-esque.
Three books so far; Fated, Cursed and Taken.
