Laurel (goodreadscomboddy_l) | 125 comments Like many of you, I seem to gravitate to the heftiest books on the store shelf. I'm finding my Kindle and IPad really wonderful for reading large books. My 1000 page plus books are:
The Stand
It
Under the Dome
Hawaii
Shogun
Gone with the Wind
Quiet Flows the Don and The Don Flows Down to the Sea
Fire and Ice
Atlas Shrugged
Outlander series
War and Peace
Aztec

Lára | 175 comments Yes. i really love books with more than 1000 pages!

I always dream about words and long sentences after finishing a book with 1000+ pages. I recite some chapters from the book, or simply recite a long story I didn´t read at all (I might made it, as far as I know).

HAHA yes I did. I enjoy big books but that would be a bit too big.

Ilean (ileanfulton) | 242 comments Currently reading Storm of Swords by George RR Martin almost half way through. I have been reading it for a week, hopefully will finish by next Friday or Saturday. I have read several other "big books" including some series.

Rebecca (rdflippen) | 20 comments prior to eBook-world; I read the following in print form (1000 pages or close to it): War/Peace; Gone w/the Wind; Atlas Shrugged; Outlander; Lord of the Rings; Jonathan Stranger & Dr. Norrel; The Historian; The Count of Monte Cristo; The Witching Hour (well the Mayfair Witches Triology); David Copperfield; It, and I feel like i'm leaving some out. eBooks - 1st 4 of the Fire & Ice Series; American Gods; and right now i'm reading NOS4a2 (which is 700+). The length is not important, but i have to admit, it's a lot easier toting around an eReader than the tome itself!

Kel (kelpeterson) Don Quixote: It was a course all about this book with chapter assignments each week. Spread out over three months, not too draining.

Count of Monte Cristo: I loved it, so the pages flew by.

Lára | 175 comments I rarely look how many pages there is.

Many of the fantasy books (the genre I prefer most) are over 1000.
It´s no different than a book with 60 pages. If it´s good, I don´t want it to end, if it´s bad, I can´t wait for it to be over

Marc Stanley | 10 comments Sometimes they read quickly, Under the Dome, I finished in a few days, but others take more time to digest... due to the topic, writing style or maybe they just don't grip you as deeply...haven't been too upset with of the hefty reading thus far. What's Next!?

Karen M | 418 comments I love James Michener, James Clavell, and George R R Martin so it's never a case of a book being too long when it's well written.
