Brian, I see you are adding a lot of Richard III era books to your own bookshelf. Feel free to add them to our group bookshelf as well.

You have a lot of books, I'm sure it will take time. Besides, you have a book to write :)

Ikonopeiston (Ikon) | 385 comments Brian, you will have noticed a certain well concealed eagerness amongst us for your third book. Next, we will be demanding to read it in the proof stage.

Brian (brianwainwright) | 149 comments Well, bits of it do exist, but I have had difficulty deciding where the start should be. Because there's so much explaining to do! I am conscious that some folk found the first three chapters of Fetterlock trying, and yet the Wars of the Roses are even more complex. There are just so many characters to bring in.

That's part of the reason for delay. There have been other factors, including me being lazy.

Ikonopeiston (Ikon) | 385 comments I hope you will show us some of Richard's boyhood or youth. I have felt that seeing the events which shaped him adds much to the story. Or perhaps it is that I am reluctant to live again those last two years when it all went wrong and a man who might have been one of England's great and good kings fell to a black-toothed villain like Henry VII and a malignant midget like Margaret Beaufort.

Hm...I don't suppose you would be open to the notion of changing that very last bit of history and letting Richard take the head off the poltroon?

Don't worry, we'll keep nagging. Fetterlock was a slow start but so worth it - I especially appreciated the who's who at the front of the book. I used it constantly to refresh my memory. I wish more authors would do that. I might have to drag Fetterlock out for a reread - after 2-3 years reading historical fiction I think I know a bit more about those Plantagenets than I did then.
