Have our personalities changed any since we were kids? For example are we more or less daring now? If so, in what ways have we changed? (Today's question is from Mel)

Sunny (wkonsunshine) | 61 comments I have to laugh. I went to my 25th HS reunion and won the prized for being least changed! Ugh! I thought it was sweet, but realized how little people knew me in high school. I think I was a bundle full of anxiety and self-doubt, a people pleaser and rule follower.

Okay, so I may be some of that now too, but at least now I'm making the choice to be that way. As Viktor Frankl reminds us in Man's Search for Meaning by Viktor E. Frankl , it all comes down to choice. (<- that would be the mature version of me)

Huh, I think I've changed a lot. I was more shy, my voice would shake like crazy if I had to speak in front of people. Blah blah blah. But I am still sarcasta-bitch. ;) LOL

Cindy (cindymac52) It's funny because I HAVE changed alot. I was never afraid of speaking my mind in school. If it pissed you off, tough! And that went for teachers too! If you didn't want my opinion then you should not have asked for it!!! I never got in trouble with my teachers because they knew I was right...MY opinion is what they asked for and I would throw it into their face. NOW...I watch what I say, it has been proven that people in power can be so vindictive. They are bosses, they just want a little stroking. I won't lie, but I won't stroke either. Thus silence! So yes, I have changed!

Stephanie (thirstyflea) | 223 comments First I want to apologize to everyone for my absence during these discussions!! I need to catch up! Life has been, well, annoying...

Anyway- this is a tough one for me- I think I have changed for the better in many ways, but I think I still am who I always was. I may be more confident and smarter :-) now, but I still ask a million questions, I still get really nervous before presentations or confrontations but then suck it up in the end and put on a darned good "show"! I think I'm much nicer than I was when I was younger, but have always been a people pleaser! But honesty has always been important to me as well, even when it is disadvantageous to me... (I've never liked playing "games" but will do so when necessary- like at my job!!)

Stephanie, I have to agree with you. While I've become older, more confident, and learned a lot over the years there's still a lot about me that stayed the same. I still carry a book (although now it's an e-reader) with me wherever I go, I'm still an overachiever and perfectionist, I hate speaking in public although I'll suck it up and be just fine, and I still prefer to have a few really close friends that I can count on than being the life of the party.

Misty (mistyspeer) I honestly think that I have pretty much stayed the same. The only difference really is that I am much more confident and don't let people walk all over me. I try and live life to the fullest and try what I can since you only live once. I recently ran into a friend from high school that I haven't seen since then and I commented how he was still exactly the same which made me so happy, he said the same about me. :)

I could have written this! I'll just add that I speak my mind even when an opinion has not been requested but I'm also sort of a clown, so better confidence allowed me to say a lot more of what I think as jokes.

And let me just add that it is great to read that everyone feels they grew in a positive way! :)

Weelll, it's funny that you ask this cause my 14 yr. old niece claimed that I am still a teenager. Jeez, just cause I'm still boy crazy, read YA books and watch Teen Wolf/Gossip girl doesn't mean I am a teenager. HAHA. Or wait, does it? LOL I am pleading young at heart.
