Would there be a change in the plot if Elizabeth and Mr Darcy had fallen in love earlier? What would you have done if you were Jane Austen?

but they both had in a way fallen in love with each other from the start its just that jane was too full of pride to admit to it and because of her social status she always was against marrying for money and by showing interest in him in the beginning it would make her seem like she was after his wealth...so in a way i thought her pride was standing in her way and the more she got to know darcy the more she realized she liked him until the end when she had fully fell in love with him

Them falling in love at the very first place wud hve ofcoz brought a complete change in the plot. the anagorisis of darcy and elizebath's attitude towards eachother wud hve got less justified which the book and its title actually intends.
if i was jane....i wud hve cut other sub-plots woven by the affairs of other characters that runs parallel so as to hve more space to explore their's a lil indepth.

I agree with Mercelle, i think they were in love very early on as it is. They just didn't admit it to each other or even to themselves. Had they done so then yes it would have been a very different book...probably an awful lot shorter too.

THANK YOU for agreeing with me there is a lot of people that don't agree with me or see my point of view but I don't know after reading the book and watching the shows and movies I came to realize that this but if you had watched pride and prejudice the adaptation with Colin flirt you might come to see why I came to that conclusion ...
