Hey guys, I have a question for you... I'm working on "Wolfsbane and Mistletoe" and I just finished reading Dana Stabenow's story "The Perfect Gift." Does anyone know if this story corresponds to a series? It just kind of stopped - at a very crucial point - and I was hoping to find the rest of the story somewhere else.
Any help would be much appreciated...
Thanks!
Wikipedia has it listed as a short story - not part ot a series. Dana Stabenow is a member of GoodReads - you could try sending her a message & asking...
God smiled on me when He put me in this group. Actually discussing the books we read. Having fun while were at it. Helping each other out whenever with whatever. Too Cool.
I have started an open Series List Google Doc that anyone can edit. I am keeping track of the series I am reading and I thought I'd be neat to have one place of a list of series.
Oh that is cool Kenjii! How did you want us to use it? Did you want us to edit it with any series we know about or just read ones or what?
Take a look at the set-up. If you like the columns let me know. Basically its to track what your reading but also to help ppl see what all other series are out there. Feel free to list partial or whole series.
I think we should make a master list of Series.
Not really to read or reading or already read.. but just a master list.
So if someone is interested they can see reading order name of books etc.
That would be a good idea. Whatcha think?

Very good, Sarah. I noticed you changed the MG series to "paranormal-erotica" halfway thru *g* so I'm waiting to see where you change the Anita Blake series from "fantasy" to "erotic fantasy" to "porn" . . . ha ha! I do like this list of series, tho!
LOL, Cindi! It seems LKH always starts out with paranormal crime procedural plots, then moves on to erotica. I just can't remember exactly when it started in Merry's world. I just remember Mistral's story, cause, well... ya know?
I have known alot of authors to do that actually.
That is move from one genre to like erotica sorta..
Laura Stamps (I like her alot) started her witches of dixie series out with no sex at all and it ended up erotica hehe.
And while I like this most of the time, what some authors dont get is we NEED a story and plot and action and well SUSTENANCE! lol

You mean SUSTENANCE like Anita's kindof "sustenance"? Ha, ha. I vaguely remember some of that in her books . . . but I admit to skipping over some of it in Skin Trade.
I have always read a lot but lately my industry (home building) sucks so I've been reading even more, and I find that everything seems to sound the same - even authors I love. I know its mostly just me, but WHY do all the [redheaded:] female leads fear commitment and wear leather (none of that in Texas these days, let me tell you!) and WHY do all the men fall for them right up front (none of that here, either) and WHY are there only vamps, SEALS and a few weres out there? I need something new and different. Any suggestions?
Demons!
Larissa Ione has a demonica series.. here is a list of her books:
The fourth one isnt out yet (and when it gets closer I will be holding a contest for a free copy, so look for that!) but this series is smoking hot, lots of action, they are HEA books (PR) but they are really good.

I will have to dig through my stash for some other suggestions.. but at this time I need to get some sleep! :D
Thanks, Tricia - I just checked out her 1st book from my library and plan to start it next! Sarah, I've already read them and yes, something exactly like that would be great. I'll have to check & see if they've got any more upcoming. Good calls, ladies!
Hey guys! I got so much help editing the open Series List Good Doc that I had to make a Table of Contents! Hehe. It is a master list of ALL series any genre.
THANK YOU SARAH
for helping. Please feel free to look at the minor changes (table of contents). This will be helpful if your reading the series or looking for a new one to start. You don't have to list the full series but putting the series in the Table of Contents will help in editing. There are 200 rows per page and there's already 2 pages! GG guys. I wouldn't be this far w/o you.
Now if you could just tie it to GR so that when we see an interesting series we just click on it and voila! there we are! Thanks, I didn't realize Nalini Singh had a new series starting!
Cindi: If I had the knowledge[of how to link the two:]...I def. have the time =D. Best I can offer is the embedded link to the DOC. Hope it helps!
At this point lets put your list in a thread all of its own and sticky it somewhere that it gets more attention?
Because if everyone helps out this will become a huge asset as a book listing.

And yes. Doing these lists makes you hunt down the entire series, which leads to discovery of the latest. Lynn Viehl has something new coming out (or may be out).
I added L.Viehl's newest series to the SLGD when I was listing the Darkyn series. I wonder how Shadowlight will turn out. Perhaps a MGR suggestion is in order? Hehe.
I'm POSITIVE it will be good; look at the cover! Ha Ha. I hate to admit how many times I pick at book by its cover . . .
Don't forget to add it to suggestions or it won't even be on my radar for months, lol. I do like the cover too btw ;)
If anyone is looking for a list of series, I have one posted at LE as well. http://www.literaryescapism.com/info/series.html

I mean, the plot of the first book was to get her pregnant before her cousin Cel was able to impregnate someone. :) I so can't wait for Divine Misdemeanors to come out next week.
Where is this master table of contents list at? I would love to add some of these to my list, but I'm not getting a lot of the designations (M/M - if that's what I think it is, why isn't it romance or erotica?)
I was hoping to eventually get all of the series posted in our series folder, but that will take some time to do hehe.
I was thinking we could also put in the type of series it is in the header of the post.
PR / MM / UF Etc.
What do you think? This way anyone searching the series folder can get a brief idea of what the books are like before clicking on the link

Well MM usually IS erotica.. but its Male on Male only.
So in a sense MM is actually MM/Erotica
I wouldn't call MM romance at all because from what I have read of MM (Though I am not the connoisseur like others are for the genre) there is so much sex in them that its not a normal romance.

There is different types of MM romance like there is for MF romance. There is even no sex or sweet MM romance. Some authors are more erotica and some more romance. I like Evangeline Anderson and Jet Mykles because they write characters that are well rounded with love, sex and humor.Sean Michael is more erotica.
Okay. I was just curious why the designation for M/M aside from a usual M/F pairing. That's all. I've been reading a lot of M/M/F novellas and those are all considered erotica, so I wasn't sure if M/M was considered something different.
Oh! Well each genre has their 'base guidelines'. But then they all can be fitted in to the category like erotica, PNR or what have you. M/M is a male male couple is all.
I've really wanted to read The Lord of the Rings books, but don't know where to begin..some people tell me the Hobbit and then some just say the Fellowship of the ring..Any suggestions?
I would suggest starting with the Hobbit but it isn't necessary at all. It makes a good introduction to the world, the writting style, and a small number of characters but I don't think you'd be lost if you start with the Fellowship. If you have time (and the inclination) to read all 4 I would. If not, then you'll be fine.
