What to do after a looooong break

So, I started this book something like 5 years ago, and read all the way to the chapter indicated (almost halfway through), at which point I got stuck and stopped. Now that the movie is coming out, I want to finish it, but I can't decide whether I have to start over from the beginning or whether I can pick up where I left off. Opinions?

I would restart. I found on the back half that I checked the first half a few times just to refresh my memory and that was with a few days reading. I doubt it will make sense just picking up where you left off.

After 5 years? Definitely restart.

Read the first half. Watch the movie. Read the second half. That was quite the enriching way to experience it. It helped me take in the film and then further helped me to experience the book.
