Billy Franks (billyfranks) | 2 comments I don't know if anyone else has this problem but when I moved from Createspace to kindle when publishing my book, the book, being in PDF format, was a little messy when converted. I did some research and it seems Kindle works better if you use the original word doc file.

Just in case anyone wants to avoid the same problem.

Best wishes,
Billy

Darren Humphries (darrenhf) | 6903 comments If you read the publishing guide on kdp it says quite plainly that it prefers mobi or filtered html files, but word is good as long as you figure out what the translation engine does to it. pdf is primarily preferred by those using paper as it is an image that doesn't get corrupted easily.

Alex South (alexsouth) | 55 comments If you're doing it on Word the hardest thing is getting the indents right.

I explain how to do them here. http://www.sevenstorieshigh.com/2012/...

For anything else this is a good guide.
