Midnight Cowboy I had seen in the 1980s and it was like no other movie I had ever seen before. I rushed out and bought the soundtrack on vinyl and played the shit out fo it, but I didnt watch the actual film agian until probablly in the early 90s and it still seemed great.
maybe I should watch it again soon. Sometimes things that seem great when you are young loose some of their magic when you get older...
I put these two movies Head to Head because they have alot in common. They both deal with society's outcasts. They both are examples of Cinematic realism that was being explored in the late 60s/early 70s. They both have similar endings, where the two buddies in each film, finally make their escape - only to end up with one of the buddies dying in the arms of the other.
