Thanks for deleting.

She was offering a download in different formats i.e. lit, epub and some one had rated it, to me it was published under GR terms and I referred her to GR powers that be when she messaged me

This was also the only book-thing I've ever deleted on GR.

To clarify: What if it's been shelved by lots and lots of people? Or even just one or two?
Fanfic is a borderline case for adding in the first place, and can have legal issues. Therefore, if we can verify that the request to remove a given fanfic is coming from the author, we will remove it.

The legal issues question could have been significant in this case. The book makes VERY considerable use of passages copied from the original novel. It looks very interesting and is on my, NON-Goodreads, reading list.
I think that if the author had messaged me directly as she did to Paula then I would have done exactly what Paula did and passed it to Caustomer Care. Sometimes this direct messaging business could be seen as trying to bypass the normal request/discuss/completion procedure that characterizes much of what we do on GR and, in my opinion, helps to make it work.
