Tntexas | 404 comments We don't replace book covers that were once in print. But I will see what I can do about adding an alternate-cover entry for the book so it will have an entry for the cover. I'll check back when I've finished.

vicki_girl | 2764 comments Has the book ever been available with the current cover? If so, we would create an Alternate Cover Edition.

If has never been available with that cover, then we will replace it.

In either case, please provide a non-bookseller link to the cover, or you can upload to your profile under "more photos" and we'll grab it from there.

It has never been available with that cover.. It was too dark for the print so it was updated for the paperback print..

Tntexas | 404 comments Ok. I tracked down the cover on your website and added alternate-cover entries for a paperback version and a Kindle one. You can see them here - just look over to the right at the "Other Editions" box. I found a description of the book here and added it to all three entries. But I didn't track down a non-Amazon source for the paperback's ISBN number and the Kindle's ASIN number. Is there anyway you could provide them for us since we're not supposed to take information directly from Amazon itself?

Not all. Just post back here when you have the information.

C.D. Baker (cdbaker) | 5 comments Covers. If I understand correctly, I can't replace covers from the original publisher even if the new publisher is offering the only current edition. So, I think this means I can add an alternative cover and let time move it up. If so, how/where to I add the alternative covers? Thanks!

C.D., does the new edition have a new ISBN, or re-use the old one?

Here's how I do it:

-- First, I check to see if the ISBN, ISBN13, or the ASIN for the new cover is already in the database.
-- Then I click on the "Other Editions" link on the book's main page followed by clicking on the "add new edition" link on the page that comes up
-- After that, I fill out a submission page for the book. If the ISNB/ISBN13/ASIN is not already in the database, I fill in the appropriate box. If it is, I leave those fields blank.
-- Once the entry has been created, I combine it with the other editions of the book; and if the ISBN/ISBN13/ASIN boxes are blank, I add a librarian's note about the entry being an alternate-cover entry for whatever number I have. (I think this step can only be done by someone with librarian status.)
