Joni | 27 comments THE DEWEY DECIMAL CHALLENGE (non-fiction)
Duration: January – December

The Dewey Decimal System is the way libraries organize their non-fiction books. It was created in 1876 by Melvil Dewey and has been changed much throughout the years.
The goal of this challenge is to read as many books with different (general) Dewey decimal classes as possible. For the purpose of this challenge, we’ll split the Dewey Decimal System into 50s, for a total of 20 categories. More in depth information on classes of the Dewey Decimal System can be found here: "List of Dewey Decimal Classes" on Wikipedia. If you have questions about where a book fits, do not hesitate to ask a moderator or the challenge leader.

Chloé (fullmetalclo) | 573 comments I haven't read it so, it's hard to tell, but I guess it's a collection of testimonies or something like that. For what I've notice, they tend to be sort by the general topic (religion, history...) so I would put it somewhere in Class 000 – Computer science, information & general works. Maybe 040 or 070.

But I suspect it must be also about ethic which would be in the 170s.

I don't think this book as been assign a code yet. Maybe if there's a librarian among us he/she could have a better guess at it than me.

http://classify.oclc.org/classify2/Cl...

I've been using this website to give me an idea what code a book usually has. The book isn't on yet.

Chloé (fullmetalclo) | 573 comments I just finished Choosing Glee: 10 Rules to Finding Inspiration, Happiness, and the Real You from Jenna Ushkowitz.
It's a fast read, there's a lot of pictures. If you're behind in your challenge and you like Glee (the TV show) or if you like motivational/inspirational books, it's a perfect read for you.
