i am currently reading " The Soloist" im on page 250 and there are 286 total pages. this is my first book of the quarter and the conflict is character vs. character as well as well as character vs. sell. Mr. Ayers has to struggle to maintain his illness and keep his confidence high while doing it and being able to overcome fears and obstacles that he has. it is also character vs. character because both main characters are at times well with one another but then they're going neck to neck. mr. ayers has to fight the critiques of people everyday and learn how to deal with people and allow himself to be helped. this book has a little of each conflict because of a homeless man who is being recognized for his talent as a cellist and violinist.
I am currently reading "Gates of Paradise". The page I'm on is 344 and there are 443 pages in all. This is my first book of the quarter. My conflict of this book is character vs. character.It is character vs. character because Anne is having issues with her uncle, Tony, that is trying to keep her locked in his house, plus, he is having problems with his memory and he goes into his own world and mistakes Anne for his wife or some other girls he grew up with.
Wassup yo i'm still reading that same book i'm starting to like that book now. Guess what, i'm on page 90, that a jump since last time. So basically i see the two conflicts going on. One of it is that the main character junior goes to this new white school ( i wouldn't like that either) he doesn't know nobody and that conflict is man vs. society. another conflict was that when he left his neighborhood school, his bestie boy Rowdy was so mad he punched Junior right in his face. Junior was girls and stayed there on the ground like a weirdo. That conflict was between man vs. man. So like i can't wait to read it again and my young bull Jimmy Nie trying to read it too. He seen some of the words on the book LOL. We might book swap when we done reading our own books.
Hello classmates i am currently reading"Vampire Hunter D Raiser OF Gale"by Hideyuki Kikuchi and so far i have read 220 pages in the book but there is a total of 230 pages in the book.I am also on my last chapter so i believe i will finish this book by the end of this week.After reading most of this wonderful/interesting book i have came across two major conflicts in this book. One of the major conflicts is Character Vs. Natural,and the Second Conflict is Charcter Vs. Charcter. First major conflict is when four children vanish from a village and only three had returned not knowing what had happen but farther in the book they soon realize that they were Vampires who are able to walk in the daylight after their 10 years of disappearance.This is a Character Vs. Natural conflict because vampire are usually not able to walk in the daylight without being harmed.My Second major conflict is when the characters"Red Caps"went around killing/starting trouble with people.When Red Caps kills someone their cap on their head turns red. This was a Character Vs. Character conflict because Red caps went around killing other characters.
I am currently reading the rangers apprentice part 2, but i am only a few pages in so i am going to describe two conflicts that happened in the first book. The first conflict was what Will was going to become on choosing day when him and his wardmates became 14. They had to be chosen to apprentice a master of a few choices but when Will wasn't excepted into any of them Halt gave the baron s note that said something about Will. Will needed to know what it was so he climbed a tower to get to the offices to find out what the note said when he got there he found that Halt was waiting for him to go to the baron and find out what it said. That was a Character vs. self conflict but it could also be a Character vs Character. The next conflict is a Charcter vs. Nature.My second conflict is the chasing of the kalkara Will is still an apprentice and yet he has to hunt for a large feroscious beast that even the greatest warriors fear. He had to travel through an open plain with his master and another ranger named gilan.He had to stay watch for the beasts that if seen strikes fear into the hearts of those who see it and freeze them with fear as long as they are close enough. When the rangers start to find footprints of the kalkara Will is scared at what might happen seing as they were being sent after those certain people who defaeted lord morgarath,the evil lord who destroyed parts of araluen in a war many years ago, Halt was one of those people and will had a hunch they were after them and he didnt want his master getting harmed
The name of the book that I am reading is Storm Runners and I am on page 83 of 143 pages. The first conflict in my story is internal. It’s internal because in the beginning of my book the main character Chase’s mom and sister are killed in a car crash and further into the story he is asked what happened and he has a flashback of what happened. In the flashback, he remembers being at Boy Scout camp waiting for his parents to pick him up. Chase remembers the sadness and pain he felt as they actually passed his parent’s car in the accident. Chase has to live with that sad feeling. The second conflict is Man vs. Environment. It’s Man vs. Environment because the main character (Chase) is uncertain about getting on the bus to go home from school because there is a hurricane on the way and he gets into an argument with his principle about how the busses aren’t safe in high winds and could flip over in high winds and that they should stay at the school. He knows this because he did a report on school busses buses.
The name of my book is called Red Kayak. I finished my book and I didn't start my new book yet. The book I finished had two conflicts that were character vs character and character vs self. It is man vs man because Beady (main character) is in a fight with his friends, J.T. and Digger, because his friends killed a boy by accident and Brady wants to tell the police but his friends won't let him. The character vs self conflict is that Brady wants to tell the police that his police that his friends killed a boy, but he's scared that his friends will be mad at him and that he might get in trouble for not telling earlier. I am was reading Ali's rap for my first book but I finished it about a week ago and am starting a new book. Ali's rap is a biography on Muhammad Ali. In the story Muhammad Ali goes through many conflicts. One conflict muhammad Ali goes through is character vs. himself. In the autobiography Muhammad Ali doesn't want to go to the army to fight vietnamese people so he decides to go to jailInstead. His lawyer gets him out of going to jail but he is stripped from his heavy weight title and he can't go back to boxing for 3 years. After the 3 years Muhammad Ali is out of shape and he tells himself if he wants to be the heavy weight champion again he will have to work even harder as he did before. Muhammad Ali eventually felt ready to get back in the ring and he had to fight George Foreman for the heavy weight belt. This conflict is now character vs character because Muhammad Ali is in the ring with George Foreman fighting for the heavy weight championship. Muhammad Ali uses a special strategy to defeat Foreman. He knows Foreman is stronger but he uses his strength against him by leaning on the ropes and letting Foreman throw punches until he gets tired. Muhammad feels how week Foreman is becoming and he hits Forman with a combo and knocks him out.
The book I was reading for the first quarter is Please Stop Laughing at Me. The book has 270 pages and I have finished reading it. The conflict in the book is that Jodee is being bullyed in school because she is volunteering at the special ed classes. And her friends are making fun of her and calling her dumb and stupid. so she moved to another school and they bullied her.then she moved again to a high school and they bullied her there because her appearance. they mad fun of her breast because one was bigger than the other. Jodee is fighting with character vs. society.
I am reading the book Code Orange by Caroline B. Cooney. This is my first book for the quarter. I didnt finish it yet but i will read alot during the storm. I am on page 118 and there are 200 pages. There are a few conflicts during this story so far. One is when Mitty is doing his report and opens a envelope full of scabs from a small pox epidemic. He touched them and breathed them in. This is a Character vs. Nature conflict. Another conflict is when Mitty writes a suicide letter to his parents. The letter says how Mitty thinks he has Small pox from the scabs and wants to die so no one else gets the disease. This is a Character vs. himself conflict because he does not no what to do. It can also be a character vs. character because his parents are now involved. These are two important conflicts in my story so far.

I know me too. And at the end of the book she is at her reunion and they are all nice to her and they said that the only reason why they were bullying her was because she was acting different and that thet didn't like that she didnt stick up for herself
so how does she overcome the bullying? and what does she do differently if anything?

Im reading Forged By Fire Im Done The Book just finished today, two major conflicts in my book is.Geralds mother abandoning him while he was young and trying to come back into his life.He is use to his aunt queen all the time but when she died all he had was his mother so it was hard for him to adjust to her.Another Major conflict is Jordan- his mothers boyfriend,he beats on him and angel-geralds sister and he touches angel in sexual ways and likes to play games with her when people arent home he tells her dont tell or he will kill her cat so she is scared to talk to someone about it. THE TWO CONFLICTS ARE CHARACTER vs. CHARACTER .
I am readin The Might by Rodan Philbrick I am only on page 50 out of 160. So far i think i can pick out the 2 major conflicts in this book. For one thing both Max and Kevin both have diasbilities that make it hard for them to fit in with the rest of society. THe world see's Max a dangerous which is unfounded. But throughout the story they learn how to work together to over come the bullies. The second conflict is Kevin overcomming is rare disease. Max helps him and they work together throughout whenever one is in need. Kevin helps Max with his studies when Max helps Kevin get around and do things he is not able to do. SORRY I'M LATE BY THE WAY :)

I am on page 171 of a book I'm reading called Maniac Magee by Jerry Spinelli. One conflict in the book is that Jeffrey, the main character, wants Mars Bars, a kid who thinks he's all bad, try to get the feel of how a black kid would feel in a white home. Jeffrey is having some struggles with it and eventually his plan did not go so well.
THE BOOK THAT I AM READING IS THE GIVER BY LOIS LOWRY. I AM ON PAGE 92 AND THERE ARE 179 PAGES TOTAL. THIS IS MY FIRST BOOK ALSO. JONAS IS SCARED BECAUSE HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT JOB HE IS GOING TO BE ASSIGNED AT THE CEREMONY OF 12. THIS IS CHARACTER VS FATE HE DOESN'T WHAT JOB HE IS GOING TO BE ASSIGN AND HE WAS EVEN MORE SCARED WHEN HIS NUMBER WAS SKIPPED TO BEING HIS JOB EVEN THOUGH LATER THEY REALIZE IT AND TOLD HIM HE WAS SELECTED TO BE RECIEVER IN MEMORY. ANOTHER IS THAT HE WAS DREAMING ABOUT WANTING TO BATH NAKED WITH HIS FRIEND FIONA IN THE TUB. THIS BOTH CHARACTER VS SELF AND CHARACTER VS CHARACTER BECAUSE HE WANTED TO BATH NAKED WITH FIONA BUT SHE WAS REFUSING AND HE WAS MAD AT HIMSELF BECAUSE HE REALLY WANTED TO BUT HE KNEW IT WAS WRONG.
Im currently done my book, "The City of Ember". The two majot conflicts in my book were that the city of Ember was running out of food supply day by day and there wasnt much electricity. The other confict of my book was that Lina an Doon thought there was something suspicous about the mayor and the city like they were keeping something from everybody and they wanted to find out what its was but it got them into alot of trouble.
Also, there are 240 pages in my book i think ... i took it back to the libary and this is my 1st book
