Yes, yes, I know mine doesn't show in too good a light.

Changed authors' names to ones shown on book cover. This sort of thing is vastly annoying to me. I can't find books in the database because they are posted under another name the author has--even if she/he never writes under that name. A good example is Emilie Loring who is listed as the author Emilie Baker Loring--Baker being her maiden name and Loring her married name. When you look at the actual book covers there is none where the author is listed under that name. It is always Emilie Loring. Are these names posted by people who want to show how much they know about the author? Or why do they list the authors under names they have never used on books? Sadly this is not the only author I've met under a strange name today. Is it being done to make it easier for people to find people they know only by their real names? I don't think Leo (or Lev in Russian) Tolstoy would care. In a lot of cases we are talking about people who are no longer living.

I updated the cover and changed the title of a work. I created a new edition and combined them myself, only now the old one is the 'top' result and updated one is the 'other' edition. Is there any way to flip that? or does it depend on which one had more adds?

I've been looking at author Lisa Gardner's books and was amazed that she had a list of four pages. I started looking through them and found 9 entries of this type: Alone, by Lisa Gardner on the title line. This, of course, added nine titles to her count. It's true that I was partly responsible for getting such a long list. I keep forgetting that if you put a name in the topmost question, you get all sorts variations on the name--and I did get those as well.

Shall I just ERASE these, pending, of course, research to see if these books are doubles or other editions of the titles?

They seem to all have ISBNs. They need combining and editing, NOT deletion.

(Some books may also need to be moved to the various other Lisa Gardners.)

I don't see 2 actual links, however when I "add book" to messages, comments, etc., 2 versions of each of these books are exhibited.

Hi Rivka - no it was never published with that cover, it was just an earlier version in the design process and they look so similar I uploaded it by mistake!
