6:57pm EST. Catching up on GR which is always interesting and fun. Getting ready to start some buddy reads--I have some terrific stuff lined up to read, both with buddies and alone. Hub will be watching baseball so I may use my earplugs so I don't get distracted--plan a mega-readathon tonight. Happy weekend everyone!

6:18PM Had a great 5 mile bike ride today because I got my bike fixed. Had dinner and will be working out in about 45 min. I will be reading until then.

Sean sorry to hear about the ulcers, but glad you are recuperating.

Ella | 108 comments 10pm. Caught up and watched last nights episode of Hannibal on the iPad. Just love that show! Thought I would have been able to finish NOS4R2 while away at MV but was too busy hanging out with the family. Back home and back to reality tomorrow.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 11:45 PM. Husband is still up watching a movie, so I decided to lay in bed and read. I'm really enjoying my book, and I just wanted to get more reading done. Plus, I don't like anything dealing with superheroes, and that's what he's watching. Tomorrow, we have to go find a few gifts for my daddy for Father's Day. Mark already sent his dad his gift, so that helps with the search. Then, Mark and Dad have to spend a few hours working on my dad's oil rig truck. I bought the movie of Rebecca tonight, which I've seen several times and love it, so I will watch it while they are working. Well, goodnight GR.........

Sean, glad you're doing better. Please stay among the living--we need you on GR! The ataxia sounds horrible. Hang in there, man.

3:55am EST. Leg/hip pain back in force so can't sleep. Lucky I have some good stuff to read. Ortho doc said if the nerve shot didn't help there are other options, so I'll be going back to see him soon. The brief respite was so good...Chronic pain or illness of any kind can be so hard to cope with. It makes you feel weak in character. Hope all my GR friends are having a better weekend. Trying to plan something special for Father's Day for my hub--he's the best!

11:20AM Good Morning GR. we have a pleasant day here in Texas so far, but I am sure it will be blazing hot by afternoon. We hit 99 in my neck of the woods yesterday.

Had some cereal, Cheerios, for breakfast. Enjoying a cup of honey tea. I will be digging into Hannibal some more today. Wanna read another hundred pages or so. Also would like to get more into Four Past Midnight, but I can't seem to put down Hannibal to accomplish that. LOL

Terri I am so sorry to hear about your pain. I know that can't be fun. I understand to a point because I have 2 bad knees for a very long time and I am sure my work outs are not helping them any. I first injured my left knee at the age of 20. I think the other one is for sympathy pains. LOL. Sometimes they get so bad I can barely walk. But we learn ya know? We learn to deal.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 2:15 PM. Sitting outside about to read. It is very humid, so I'm not sure how long I'll be out here. I mainly came out here for moral support while Mark and my dad work on Dad's truck. Haha! I watched Rebecca earlier, and what a great movie!

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 2:26 PM and I am itching to go to lunch. Working a mid shift today. Can't wait to get home and relax with my family. Thankfully I have tomorrow off so I am looking forward to that.

Teri, I hope your pain gets manageable and less troublesome. I can't imagine what you must go through with that. Hope your plans come through and your husband has an amazing Father's Day.

Janie good luck with your reading today. Hannibal was great and I can't wait to talk with you more about it.

2:35PM Ok so the reading plans did not go as I intended so far LOL. I did not read much at all. I caught a cleaning bug so I cleaned instead, and I got a boo boo on my right ring finger when cleaning my shower. I was scrubbing away like a maniac and the tip of my finger caught on a screw in the shower. OUCH! If feels a bit better now. Go figure it is on my right hand. Had a hamburger for lunch once I got done with cleaning and vacuuming. Now I am sitting here catching up on GR And I will get back to reading after that.

message 4912: by GeneralTHC (new)

GeneralTHC 2:49 PM I haven't been reading much the last couple days either: my methadone hit me pretty hard yesterday, which happens from time to time, and I've been sleeping up a storm. I'm hoping to knock out some books over the weekend if I can stay awake.

message 4913: by Victor (new)

Victor 3:15 PM I'm listening to my grandma complain about ground beef...

Later I'll be going to watch a black belt testing:) There's supposed to be board breaking, sword fighting, and I get to see lots of people earn their black belts:) Next weekend I'll be testing for my green belt.

I hate when chores get in the way of reading, Janie. That sounds painful. Glad it feels better:)

Chuck, know what you mean. Usually my pain meds don't really make me feel anything other than less pain, but once in awhile... POW...

1:45 a.m. EST Not sure why I didn't receive any update notifications, so forgive me if I missed anything. We went out yesterday for breakfast, and then I slept most of the day. Tomorrow is hubby's day off; he's just crashed out right now. Long week. I need to finish this book I started yesterday morning and then re-read The Shadow Walker, since I start editing the sequel on Monday. Whee! hope everyone else is doing okay.

5:58am EST. Up early since I couldn't get comfortable so I'm going to check GR and then read. Wanted to take hub out for dinner for Father's Day, but it's just not in the budget. (Rats.) So I'll settle for just cooking some of his favorite things. He's a good man and a good father.

Victor, good luck on getting your green belt!

Happy Father's Day to all you fathers out there!

10:05AM It is pretty quiet right now. Son and hub both at work, kay still asleep. I may take this opportunity to read a bit. Chose another Ellen Hopkins to read before Black House. Had some eggs for breakfast. No honey tea or coffee today. Although some coffee is sounding good.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the great dads out there.

Terri, sorry to hear you are having an uncomfortable start to your day. Hope it's better soon.

Kathryn, I love salmon! My dad, however, pretty much will only eat beef and maybe some chicken once in awhile. He is a cattle rancher, y'know... :-)

4:52 p.m. EST The weather leaves me lethargic. I think this is the earliest I've crawled out of bed all week! Heh. Dunno if we'll do anything today or not. Probably not. Hope everyone has a great day!

6:05PM Did cold cut sandwiches for dinner. It is rest night from Insanity, so I am planning on reading as much as I can. I want to finish Impulse and then start Burned after that before my read of Black House. Throwing Four Past Midnight in between reading the other ones.

10:24 p.m. and I hope all you fathers had a great Father's Day with family! Been running all day and kinda tired, but it's one of those GOOD tired feelings. Want to read for a VERY short time and go to bed. I am currently reading The Next Time You See Me and it is really good for a first novel by this author. I am seriously getting into the book now.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 10:47 p.m. EST Went to the Mellow Mushroom for some dinner and a drink. I had hummus, yummy. Hubby had a calzone. I'm wavering between watching a movie or going to sleep, but now I feel fairly well awake and I think I'd feel guilty if I didn't try to read something else... Typical! This is how I never manage to watch any movies.... I really did mean to, but hubby just came in to sleep and I don't really want to go watch in the kitchen. Oh, well... I have some novellas I've been holding onto for a very long time for which I owe reviews, guess i'll do one of them!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 11:55 PM. Had a good Father's Day/ Sunday! Mark and I were at a loss for a gift for my dad, so we spent most of our weekend brainstorming and looking at different things. We finally picked out a few things: two shirts, a pair of shorts, and Rangers baseball tickets for the 4th of July. He loves baseball and loves to go to games, and after the game on the 4th, they have an awesome fireworks show. Mark and I have gone every year we've been together, except last year because they didn't play at home. Should be fun. He seemed happy. I also made him one of his favorite meals and a cherry cobbler with vanilla bean ice cream. I love my sweet dad!

I got some reading done yesterday, but none today. I might try to read a chapter before I fall asleep. Gizmo still is in the phase of not sleeping with me, and you would think I wouldn't sleep well when she does sleep with me, but I sleep HORRIBLY without her. I guess it's a comfort thing. I miss her cute little buggly self snuggling up next to me. :(

Good luck, Victor!!!! I know you can do it!!!!

Katy, my husband loves hummus. I had never had it until I met him, and its pretty good!

Terri, happy to see you post! Tell Charlie puppy hi for me! Can you tell I love animals?!

Chris, happy Father's Day to you! :)

Janie, saw you got some reading done! Woohoo!!! Hope you had a great weekend! Here's to another week of great reading! :)

Alondra, miss your crazy posts! Hope you have a great work week! :)

Cindy, hope you had a great weekend!!! :)

Jordan, Tee, Julia, Rachel, um, and everyone else who posts on this thread, hope you all had a great weekend!!!!!!! Have a great new week!

In Britain we call ground beef, minced meat not to be confused with the mince that goes into mince pies. But then again that IS confusing!!!!!

I was lucky to stumble across a short book, but now I'm done again, still not sleepy, and I'll bet D wants to play battle tanks and that would wreak havoc with me trying to steam something offa NetFlix... *sigh* Oh, it's pouring rain out, started up about 45 minutes ago. Hope you feel better, Katy! I hate migraines! They make me so sick. I went to the doctor a few months ago because I'd had a migraine for three-four days, and he said I'd most likely had a blood clot go through my brain.
