I'm so jealous, I wanted to go to the Ailce Cooper Rob Zombie concert a few years ago and didn't have the money. I bet that was a great show. Hope you had a blast.

10:41and I'm just spending time with my wife watching some TV. Heading to bed soon. Hope everyone had a good day.

goodmorning GR:D

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 2:43 a.m. EST Suddenly feeling tired, so I think I'm going to knock off and nap. Finally have a cool breeze blowing in through the window, but will have to lower it before I fall asleep so we don't have a repeat of the cat-out-the-window thing from last week. It was cool today, but has been hot inside 'cause the A/C isn't working properly; the line outside ices up and it doesn't cool, plus it's leaking water all over the floor. Yuck.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:00 AM. We got home at midnight from the concert. It was a pretty good show. Sound quality-wise, The Moody Blues were MUCH better. Alice and Marilyn put on a great show though. I even got some pictures on my phone. Going to eat some breakfast, need to clean up the house a little, and get some reading done. Happy Tuesday!!!

message 4855: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments You know who put on the best show I've ever seen? Jethro Tull! That was back in the mid-1990s (1997, I think?). But wow, they put on a good show. Sounds like fun, Kathryn! Glad you enjoyed it.

11:24 a.m. EST Just up and cleaning out e-mail. Had a quick chat with E.J. Dabel this morning, and now I guess I'll read. Learned that an author I really liked is a complete and total jerk, so that was disappointing... *sigh* What gives people the right to be rude and confrontational? In this case, he had contacted a blogger without following her submission guidelines, so she wrote back and said she was not accepting the book and that maybe he might want to personalize his requests and follow submission guidelines for better success and he basically unloaded on her! I mean, come ON, he was in the wrong there... We have submission guidelines for a REASON, y'know? Anyway... Hopefully everyone is off to a good start on their Tuesday, or whatever day it is over there on the other side of the world... ;-)

11:32AM Late start this morning here om GR But that was because Aeverie wanted me to play Zuma. LOL So I did. He loves to see me play that game. So Now I am gonna be checking in here, get some lunch, and then read. I think I will start off with Unspoken today.

Kathryn glad you had a nice time at the concert. I never really liked Manson at all. Not my style of music I guess.

Katy sorry to hear that your AC is not working properly. We had to replace our outside unit last year. Luckily hub has a friend in AC and he was able to get us the unit for $500

Will sit up another hour or so then I have to hit the sack. Hope everyone is well. I haven't been able to read a lot of your posts the last few days. Almost finished with Heart-Shaped Box. Maybe I'll finish it in the next couple of days.

11:17AM Hey everyone & Good Morning! Again late to GR because Aeverie wanted more Zuma! LOL I guess I move to slow in the morning with FB before he gets in here after his breakfast. LOL So today I would like to get through Unspoken, but with grand baby here I am not sure that will happen. He always tells me he does not want me to read. LOL I guess that would be one of the "you know you read too much when...."

4:25PM Seems a little quiet here today. Just had spaghetti for dinner, been awhile lol. Am trying to read, but grand baby has stopped me several times today. It's ok though I will read more later. Gonna work out in about an hour, have some coffee and read more.

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 5:50PM and I've had a busy day. Dr appointment this morning and then since all of us were out I took my family to IHOP for a late breakfast. Came home and all of us had a nap and a little time to read while the kids were sleeping. Just cleaning and doing laundry, going to make dinner for my son soon. It is a fend for yourself night since my wife has book club tonight. Hope everyone is doing well.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 9:24 p.m. EST Had quite a day. Dr. appointment this morning and you want to hear something really messed up? Because I didn't have ENOUGH roxicodone in my system, they wouldn't give me the prescription for it this month! Also, the morphine levels were low and there were NO metabolites in my system. Did they stop to think that maybe that was a sign that my body processes things differently? That maybe this is why I have such an insanely high tolerance for it? NOOOOO. GAH! Idiots. If I have a bad month, I'm calling them every damn day. Then I came home and had to send hubby to work, and then try to sleep. It was so hot and one of my cats wanted to sleep on my head and the other on my leg and ugh... but I tried. All day. Well into the evening. Finally gave up. Making good progress on the Deacon Chalk series - halfway through the 2nd full novel, having read two novellas and the first full book since yesterday, so ... when this one is finished I'll have one more novella and one full-length novel and I'll be caught up on the series. Tomorrow I am meeting an intern for the local free paper, so that should be fun. Now I'm clearing out all the e-mail that has accumulated... wheeee.

8:30PM Got grand baby in the tub and now he is settled in with a movie. Had a great workout. Now I wish I would have waited on my coffee till after work out lol. Oh well I will have some honey tea. Sounds good anyway. So I am going to try and read some more. I got about 120 pages in today so far, not very good. But that is what happens when Aeverie is here lol.

Katy, I'm so sorry for your pain and your frustration. It's such a totally helpless feeling to be at the mercy of the health "care" establishment. Sending you good thoughts and **hugs**

Chris, sounds like you're doing better. YAY!!

2:07pm EST. Saw the eye doc this am and got some much needed new glasses. What a difference! Raining on and off today. Pretty humid. Getting ready to watch the Reds and the Cubs. Hub is off today, he's out doing grocery shopping. Plan a leisurely evening. Got some great stuff at the library, so I'm all set on the reading front. Have a great evening all my GR friends!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 3:03 PM. Finished Joyland and wrote my review. Going to take a pause for the cause and start a book later on tonight. I haven't fully decided on what to read next, so hopefully a few hour break will help me decide. I've read a few large books lately, so I was thinking a shorter one, but maybe by a different author and different genre. But, the book I've been thinking about reading is Rebecca, and it's not as short as I was wanting to read. See why I might need a little break? LOL. Going to do the dishes, get a workout, and think about my next read. :)

7:49 p.m. and I finished Heart-Shaped Box. It was just OK for me and I thought it was a little tactless when it came to the name choices for the women. Other than that it was alright. Want to read some more on The Next Time You See Me tonight and then we'll see where the road leads from there.

Are you talking about Jude's nicknames for the women (the state they were from)? I thought it was pretty fitting for his character, no?

message 4886: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Thanks, Terri; I just counted my MS-Contin today and was only given enough to take me to the morning of the 10th - exactly 28 days from when I saw the PA - but the doctor isn't in on Wednesdays, so I can't see her until the late morning on the 11th... which means I'm TWO doses short. GAH! I can adjust the timing of my doses slowly over the course of the month until I've basically "skipped" two doses, but it won't be fun. Any more than 15 hours after my previous dose and I start with withdrawal...

8:18 p.m. And I'm already started with the late doses. I'm going to try to hold off on my next dose until at least 11; took it at 9:30 this morning, 7:45 p.m. last night... *sigh* Slept most of the day despite the heat by using ice packs and bottles of frozen water, so that was nice. Of course, I was supposed to meet someone at 11 this morning and slept through it... oops! Still, I needed the sleep; I hadn't slept much in the previous two days.

New glasses are awesome. I last bought new ones I think three years ago from EyeBuyDirect.com, two for $25. Apparently my prescription hadn't changed, so as long as I don't lose all of them (have lost two out of four pair I had) I'll be good... O.O

Tonight I'll likely finish the Deacon Chalk series so far, and tomorrow I'll go from there. I have a short by John Abramowitz to read, but that review will have to wait until it's up on Wattpadd... still, going to finish it and have it all set up. I'll let you know when it's live.

Oh, we have a thunderstorm and the power just blinked. Right in the middle of setting up this post! I better post before it happens again!
