3:20PM Just finished Odd Thomas and absolutely loved it! Look forward to my next read which will be Heart Shaped Box, this is a reread for me. Not sure what to do for dinner tonight. I am sure I will figure it out.

Cindy you have a very busy day. Just take a little time to breathe in between!

I'm gonna do my best to finish NOS4A2 tonight Janie so I can start Heart-Shaped Box tomorrow. I may be a day behind, but I'm not gonna stress over it. Spaghetti and meatballs Janie.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 3:54 PM. Just ironed several things for Mark. Whew! That always makes me hot. The cake is done, so Mark will be happy. LOL, going to read a little bit, then workout.

Janie, glad I made you giggle! When I saw the cake mix in the counter, I had a laugh, too. The boy loves his sweets. Just not sure how he stays so skinny. Lol

Thanks, Cindy! Hope you get to finish NOS4A2 tonight, but if you don't, there is always tomorrow. :)

Oops! Was supposed to be at my daughter's right now. It will only take me a few minutes to get dressed. Talk to all my friends later tonight.

message 4706: by Victor (new)

Victor 4:01 PM and I'm really impatient right now. I wish these delivery guys for Barnes and Noble could just drive to my house and give me Joyland right now. I wished it worked out that way:/ On the bright side I should get it this week and at the latest Saturday since it shipped today. The shipping and B&N takes about three to four days.

message 4707: by Victor (new)

Victor What Mark did was really funny, Kathryn:) My uncle is the same way. He eats so much, but he is so skinny.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Ah, I've heard of that, too. Glad it's helping, Terri!

5:37 p.m. EST Crashed out around 5 or 6 in the morning and didn't drag myself up until the dog started fussing around 4. Hubby had to work a double, so left about quarter to ten, and I woke up briefly to see him off. Guess I was tired! Still making up for Sunday, I suppose. Anyway, clearing out my e-mail and then it's back to editing...

Going to bed in a few minutes, not feeling 100% so hoping an early night will sort me out.. Been reading A Game of Thrones this evening - took me a while to get in to it, with the choppy chapters, but its getting good now :)

10:33PM Had an ab work out this evening decided to do that over a recovery one. Then watched America's Got Talent. It was pretty good. Now gonna settle in with a book and hope that Aeverie falls asleep soon.

message 4715: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:48 PM. Had a great workout, and right when I was done, Mark got home. I got cleaned up, and we went outside. I lounged and read in my lawn chair, and he worked on our kayaks. Then, we went inside and I cooked lemon pepper tilapia, Cous Cous, and a salad for dinner. We watched Deadliest Catch, then I ate too many fresh cherries. Now, I am in bed, and going to read until my eyes get too heavy. Goodnight, Gr.............

12:07AM. Well the kiddo is finally asleep and now I am gonna do some power reading for maybe an hour then call it night.

Cindy glad you finished NOS4A2.
Katy I mainly work out for my health. And it has given me so much more energy!

message 4719: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, I know Janie; I should exercise more, but ... *shrug* Like I said... I'm LAZY. Hehe

1:11 a.m. Time to edit some MORE! Hubby has another double shift tomorrow, but I'm over the worst of the "Oh, I need FOOOD" cravings, so tomorrow should be easier to deal with (no food in the house... trying to keep myself conscious with some chocolate I found in the back of the 'fridge).

10:00am EST. Just finished making some vegetable soup for dinner and it is delicious! The shot I got on Monday is still helping tremendously with pain relief--I only had to take 1 pain pill yesterday at bedtime to get me through the night. I woke up at 2:30 and had some fresh cherries and read awhile. Then got up at 4:30 with hub. Already had my walk today--another beautiful day. Time for another cup of coffee and some serious reading. Have a great day everyone!

Terri so glad yu have gotten some pain relief! Enjoy your beautiful day!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 9:11 AM. Just made some coffee and am about to read. Giz-bear finally snuggled with me last night, and it helped me sleep better. I am going to read most of the morning, and then workout, get ready and go see my brother's kids and their new baby girl. Hoping I get some serious reading done beforehand. :)

Terri, glad to see you feeling better! :)

Janie, hope you have fun with Aeverie today!

Cassie (crk815) | 199 comments 12:07pm at work. Hoping to get back to some reading this week. Been a rough last few days. My step dad, whose been in my life for 10 years and were close, passed away Thursday night, May 30th. So these last few days have been a blur....at work and feel a little odd being here.

message 4726: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Cassie! I had been wondering where you were! Sorry to hear about your loss. Sending you big hugs! Will keep you in my prayers.

message 4727: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Cassie, I'm so sorry to hear about your stepfather. My condolences.

Terri, I'm glad to hear you've received some pain relief from the shot. It's so nice to have those pain levels down, isn't it?

1:47 p.m. EST Landlord sent someone over to look over the gutters and roof and clean them. They walked around outside, made some noise, started my dog barking, and left again. I imagine if I try to go back to sleep, they'll be here soon enough, so I'll try to stay up and work on my editing. Dmitry woke up early in the morning and went to Walmart to pick up some supplies, so I have some pistachios to munch on, and some ground beef to make food with later on. Just need to clear out e-mail and I'll be good to go!

Been an eventful day at placement today, a child confided in me about problems he's having which made me cry and he now doesn't trust me after having to pass on the information to protect him:( Going to read to take my mind of things..

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Ack, Jordan! You have pneumonia or something? Hope you feel better soon. And that's so sad about the little boy :-( Hopefully someday he'll realize you were just looking out for his best interests.

2:38 p.m. EST Just had quite a little thunderstorm; the power flickered a few times. I think that first bolt of lightning was quite nearby, and then it poured down rain for awhile. Hopefully that will help reduce the humidity. As it is, I feel like I need to have a set of gills to breathe properly!

1:47PM Enjoying time with Aeverie, not getting much reading time in though so far today, but that is ok. We are playing a race type game on his tablet. Pick up the coins and avoid the other cars buy moving the tablet back and forth.

I did start on Heart Shaped Box. It is as good as I remember it. And still reading House as well.

Jordan sorry you are not feeling well. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Sending hugs your way.

Cassie So sorry to hear about your Stepfather. Hugs to you.

5:03 p.m. and HOPEFULLY today is the last day I run around like a chicken with its head cut off. Started reading Heart-Shaped Box but I'm only on page 7. Still need to cook something to eat and I have to be somewhere at 7:30 p.m. Probably won't get a lot of reading done today, but will catch up some tomorrow.

message 4735: by [deleted user] (new)

Jordan, sure hope you feel better soon. I hope you feel good knowing you did the right thing for that little boy. It must be one of the hardest things about your future career.

Holly, welcome back!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Jordan wrote: "Katy, I'm not sure, the pharmacist said he thinks I have a chest infection."

If you're coughing up BLOOD, it might be a good idea to see a physician and have some tests done. It sounds like an extremely SEVERE infection. The only time I've ever coughed up any blood was when I had pneumonia, but I don't always cough up blood when I have pneumonia. Of course, my lungs are weak, so as soon as I start having trouble breathing I'm at the doctor because I don't like pneumonia. Anyway, my point it, it sounds really serious and maybe a pharmacist is not enough. Take care of yourself!

10:06 p.m. EST Feeling sort of ugh tonight, but have editing to do, so finally up and about. Took a nap earlier when the storm was coming in, and I did NOT want to wake up but I can't sleep all night either. Things to do!

message 4741: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm sure the pharmacist was just trying to help, but I don't think it's a good idea for him to even hint at a "diagnosis". Just my opinion and you know what they say about that.

message 4742: by [deleted user] (new)

10:10 p.m. and I MIGHT try to read until 11 if I can stay awake. Started Heart Shaped Box today and liking it so far.

Kelly (and the Book Boar) 9:26 - Watching Awkward since I just finished Everybody Sees the Ants and am savoring it for a bit.

Cindy, I hope you enjoy Heart Shaped Box as much as I did : )

message 4744: by [deleted user] (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 10:40 p.m. EST Hubby just arrived home, tired and grouchy. two doubles in a row, I don't blame him. I'm almost done with e-mail and then it's back to editing.

10:16PM Well since the Kiddo had a nap I think he is awake for awhile. That's ok though he is busy with a movie and I wanna read some more anyway. I have been stuck on Heart Shaped Box, I keep saying time to switch back to House but I never make it back. LOL Just had my honey tea and ready to read more.

message 4747: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 12:21 a.m. EST There are SO MANY baby spiders rappelling from the ceiling tonight! I think I've found at least a half-dozen dangling in front of my face, one hanging from my bangs, and three on my arms! *sigh* Catch and move to a safe place, lather, rinse, repeat!

This book is freaking me OUT, man... I keep reading it and thinking, "This has happened to ME TOO!!!" Brrrrr. Truth is stranger than fiction, that's for sure... Once it is updated, I'll definitely encourage everyone to read it if you're interested in dreams and dreaming and metaphysics of any kind...

Back to work!

message 4748: by Jordan (new)

Jordan (jords) | 277 comments Katy, I spoke to my mom and she used to be a nurse and advised me to try the medicine for a few days because it sounds like ive torn something from all the coughing but if it hasn't reduced at all by tomorrow I'm making an appointment at my GP. Thanks for the concern:D

message 4749: by Jordan (new)

Jordan (jords) | 277 comments Cindy, thats what my mom said because I don't have any other symptom of a chest infection

message 4750: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Hopefully it'll help, Jordan!

4:19 a.m. EST Wow, this book becomes more and more interesting, yet complex. Now I'm having to double-check the guardian angels for various time periods based on the Zodiac... I could just trust that he looked 'em up properly, but I did find one name slightly misspelled, so better to be slow and safe over fast and wrong! :-)
