Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Sorry to hear you're having pain, Terri, hope it reduces soon. And yeah, I totally agree - I can not understand why they denied me. It doesn't make any sense at all. Especially at the hearing level! I've known much shakier cases than my own to be approved once they go to hearing. I can only assume it was the idiot "expert" who claimed that there were jobs I could do. I wanted to ask him where, exactly, he thought I could work and what, exactly, I could do with my restrictions, but my lawyer wouldn't let me.

4:04 p.m. EST Slept all day, mostly. Woke up long enough to send hubby off to work - he had to go in at noon today, so a very long day for him. I'll be reading this evening, I guess. Tomorrow I'll be starting an editing project for E.J. Dabel. His regular editor up and vanished on him, so I was next on his list. I'm quite excited to work on the Pantheons series, the first two of which I read and reviewed over the last year or so. It's a really interesting take on mythology.

So, first to clear out all the e-mail that gathered up over the past ...umm, looks like about 15 hours. O.O

6:51PM Ok so I guess I did not get my whole day of reading. LOL Although it was pretty relaxing. When to the UBS, took some more books in and ended up with $9.50 in store credit which was nice. Got 2 more Ellen Hopkin books yay! Had to pick up my meds, then swung by Freebirds and took My daughter home from work and was there for a bit. Just got home had dinner, and will be working out in about 45 Min.

11:40 p.m. and I'm not even gonna make an attempt to catch up on the posts from the last week. Sorry folks, I've had health issues and anything else under the sun you could think of. I haven't gotten any reading at all done for a week now and I'm starting back into my books tonight. Doctor said I absolutely must lessen the stress in my life or it will be a miracle if I live another five years. Blood pressure through the roof along with all my other lovely health related beasts. I'm gonna attempt to finish The Talisman tonight but I'm not gonna worry about falling behind. It is what it is and that's OK. I really missed you guys!!

Oh believe me when I say the doc put the fear of God in me, literally. I'm not gonna stress. Have been practicing some meditation and relaxation exercises. And thanks a bunch for the support! I don't have to get up early in the morning and I actually feel like reading tonight. If I get sleepy, I'll go to bed. Thanks again Rachel and Katy!

1:38 a.m. EST While I just started a new book, I'm hoping I'll be able to go to sleep relatively soon, as I have editing to do this week and I'd like to sleep for awhile and start fairly early tomorrow. We'll see if this happens... :-)

Cindy, please take care of yourself!!! Even though we miss you, your health is so important! My dad has had high blood pressure for a long time now, but it wasn't discovered until he had a heart attack when I was 15. Remember to rest, try not to stress, and I am glad to hear you are doing something to help relax you. It sounds silly, but I have some of those sleep system or music which is supposed to help you sleep, and sometimes when I am stressed I listen to one. It really helps me. Hope you feel better! We miss you, and I will you in my prayers! Many hugs to you!!

10:46AM Having a relaxing morning. Hub made home made waffles. So I had a couple of those. Now I am reading XO for a bit, then I will switch to Horns and finish that today.

Cindy please take care of yourself. I have meds for my blood pressure but my doctor told me once I am more active and drop weight it will prolly not be an issue. My bp has never exceeded 190/87. Yoga has also been known to help. Just take time for yourself and try not to stress.

7:55AM Just had some breakfast, enjoying some coffee. Looking forward to getting more into XO now, and Glass. Had a hard time finding a 'single' listing of Glass on GR so I could post as 'currently reading' I had to go into 'my books' just to list it. Good grief what was that about. Every time I would type in Glass it would only list the set of Crank and Glass. Finally I found it on my TBR list. Took forever though. Good Morning my GR friends.

message 4486: by [deleted user] (new)

9:01am EST. Hanging out on GR before I resume NOS4A2 (I know I'm late on reading this). Creepy but good, I'm not a huge horror person. Fell this am when my bad leg gave out. No serious injuries, just some bumps and bruises. I did hit my head and I'm on Coumadin so I have to watch that. Luckily my younger son (the recent grad!) is staying with us for a few days so he can keep an eye on me. Going to be hot today (90) so we already have the ac on. Good morning all on GR, hope you're having a great day!

message 4487: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 9:12 AM. Had a busy weekend so I didn't get to read much like I had planned. Oh well! It was fun! Yesterday my dad had me help work on his oil field truck, so that kept me busy; plus chores like dishes and laundry. Then, I went to the store and we grilled hamburgers. I made a pasta and baked beans, as well. Forgot the vegetable though. Oops! We had a coconut cream pie for dessert, then my dad went home. Going to eat a bowl of raisin bran and make a big cup of coffee and read.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh dear, Terri - glad you're okay, but yes, be careful!

1:23 p.m. EST I am SO ANNOYED at my pain clinic. They called this morning at 9 a.m. to tell me to come in for a "random mid-month pill count". This alone ticks me off. They make us go through all this rigmarole like we're children. If a person needs the narcotic medication, they are NOT going to abuse or sell it, but they treat all of us like recidivist drug offenders. Then to make things WORSE, they said I also had to take another drug test! I just took one when I was in the clinic about 2 weeks ago, and I complained because they CHARGE US for this. But no... Anyway, I didn't provide enough output, so they said I had to wait around until I had to go again and do it again. I sat there for almost an hour and thought, "That's IT" and just walked out. I no sooner make it home than they are calling, "You need to take this test" so I had to go back in. All in all they wasted THREE HOURS of my time today, and now I'm that much farther behind. I should bill them... jerks. Really REALLY wish Georgia would legalize medical cannabis so I could go off the morphine, dust my heels of that racket, and take something that might actually HELP me...

On the plus side, I finished the Star Trek novella I was reading and started on the next Gary Reilly book. Such a pity he died so young - he was really talented. Still, we have 7 more of these books to look forward to, even if the publication is after his death (what is the word for that? Post-something... I can't remember).

Then that makes two of us Terri - late. I'm currently reading this book and only a third of the way through it. Really liking it so far.

message 4490: by [deleted user] (new)

4:49 p.m. and I came home from work, took a shower, and got something to eat. Now I'm ready to get down to some serious reading. Told Jeff if he would actually let me read for a couple of hours without talking my head off that I will watch part of a series we've been following on Netflix. Fingers crossed.

Katy - so sorry to hear you are going through all the craziness with the clinic. Unfortunately, it only takes a couple of people to abuse substances for everyone to pay the price. Take care of yourself and I hope it gets better for you soon.

message 4491: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 3:58 PM. I have been focused on reading most of the day. Stopped a few times for laundry and dishes. I hope to finish Horns by tomorrow. Going to workout after a while since my dad is here working on his truck. I like to be free in case he needs my help.

5:20PM Just finished dinner, chicken alfredo. I actually convince Hub to have some. He does not like alfredo sauce on account of the Parmesan cheese. Either way, I love it! Will be working out in about 40 min. I love when I work out, makes me feel pretty good afterwards.

Terri, so glad you are ok after the fall. Plz take care.
Katy sorry you have to go through so much hoopla, but like Cindy said it only takes a couple to mess things up.
