1:30 p.m. and I just want to retire! Or, better yet, get a job I can work from home. Never enough time to do anything with all the running around. At least I can manage my time much better when I'm home. Oh well, enough of the ranting. Hope everyone is having a fantastic day! I'm gonna read for about 30 minutes then I'm off to work.

Audiobooks are where it's at for the person on the run. I promise ya. Also you might want to check out whispersync.

message 3903: by [deleted user] (new)

I was looking at whispersync yesterday Chuck. When I get the time I will check it out further. Wish I could listen to audiobooks at work :(

message 3904: by GeneralTHC (new)

GeneralTHC You can listen on your commute and lunch hour and stuff, can't ya? Oh, I guess you can probably read then I bet. I just can't tell you how much I love them. I listen everywhere. I even crank 'em up through my amp and listen to them in the shower. haha

message 3905: by [deleted user] (new)

The commute would definitely work! Lunch, well let's just say my company doesn't believe in lunch breaks. I get two ten minute breaks. But, yes, on the way to and from work - that would work.

message 3906: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 1:04 PM. Crocheted and watched Carrie. It wasn't a bad movie, actually. Going to fix some lunch, and get back to crocheting and put another movie on for some noise.

1:39PM Just finished Red dragon, then vacuumed, got my kitchen cleaned up a bit. Now I am back on GR to relax a bit. Aeverie played out in the back yard a little while, now he is back inside watching yet another movie. But if it makes him happy then who am I to keep him from the things that make him happy. He will be going home today. Been trying to think about what to do for dinner. Hmmm? Maybe the good ole stand by of Spaghetti. You can never have too much I guess. LOL Been a week so its good.

Yeah, you can never go wrong with spaghetti. I like putting red pepper and Parmesan cheese on it. Yummy!

7:16AM What a chilly morning and it is kind blah outside, but I won't let take away from my day today! Will be going out for my birthday today. I get to go to UBS, Barnes & Noble, Jupiter House for a Frap, YUM I love them. Then out to lunch, my choice. I am thinking Chinese food cause I love it. yesterday my oldest daughter Amy surprised me with the best Red velvet cake I have ever had! LOL And a ladybug planter. I don't know what the plant is though I am not good with plants. LOL So we will have breakfast and then prolly be on our way today!

Terri & Victor thank you so much for the birthday wishes!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, Today is Janie's birthday? Awesome, Janie, have an excellent day!

Sounds like you have some awesome plans. Enjoy!

9:53 a.m. EST Woke up actually feeling like doing things, so I'll be reading for awhile. Unfortunately hubby is sick now :-( Hopefully he'll have enough sleep from the Nyquil to be up to going to work.

message 3915: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 8:57AM At work, finished with the opening tasks, and now listening to Red Dragon. Hope it stays slow, because I really hope to get some reading in. Starting a 6 day stretch until my next day off.

Happy Birthday Janie!!! Sounds like you have a great day planned and that is how it should be. Enjoy your day.

Katy, I am glad to hear you are feeling better. Bummer about your husband being sick, hope he feels better soon also.

message 3916: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Happy birthday, Janie!!! Sounds like you have an awesome day ahead of you! Hope it is wonderful!

8:59 AM. I have been up for about two hours. Tried laying in bed to fall asleep, but it didn't work. Eating breakfast and about to start Under the Dome.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 10:13 a.m. EST Just going to log off and read. My poor cat came over to cuddle, but since I kept typing he became irritated the left again. Hopefully once I put up the computer he'll come back. Tiger is sitting here grooming, but Erasmus is irritably sitting in the window...

Holly, everything okay?

message 3920: by Holly (new)

Holly | 1184 comments Yes, Katy thank you. I've just been really busy lately and haven't had much time to myself.

message 3921: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Sorry to hear that. It's so important to have time for oneself. Hope things slow down for you soon!

message 3923: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 4:02 p.m. EST Going to read for awhile and then take a nap. I'm growing tired from the constant coughing... it sure takes it out of you!

message 3924: by Holly (new)

Holly | 1184 comments Sorry to hear that you have a cough Katy. Hope you feel better. :-)

message 3925: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments The cough is better than the lungs-slammed-closed that I had Sunday night/Monday morning, trust me :-)

7:10 p.m. EST Although I was quite sleepy, I didn't quite manage to fall asleep, between people doing drug deals by my mailbox (GAH!) and my cats doing things that made me wake up... Anyway, guess I'll read for awhile, maybe try sleeping again later.

6:46PM Wow had a HUGE day today and a GREAT birthday! Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! Got home about 4:15PM. Got a great book haul which I posted. Had Chinese for lunch. Enjoying some coffee right now and then I have to find a place for all my 'new' books to go. It's always so exciting!

Holly we all miss you being around girl! Good to see you post!

Janie I'm so glad you had a great birthday. You deserved to be spoiled. Happy birthday again.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 3:39 a.m. EST Woke up earlier and couldn't sleep so up and reading. A bit concerned since we need some supplies but hubby isn't feeling well enough to go pick them up. Hopefully we'll be able to hold out until he feels a bit better, but I'm afraid we'll need cat kibble sooner than that... Just had awesome news that Colorado has granted civil unions, so my soul sister can finally marry her partner! I'm so happy for them :-D

Well hopefully your honey will wake up feeling much better! Fingers crossed. Congratulations to your friend! The cat? Well, let's just say if your cat is anything like mine - the food will be DEMANDED in no uncertain terms :)

message 3931: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, yes, the cats do not allow an empty food dish to remain so. Of course, His Royal Fluffiness the Fluff can not eat food out of the dish like the other cats; he must have his kibble placed elsewhere. Spoiled little beasties... :-)

message 3932: by [deleted user] (new)

3:57 a.m. and I MUST force myself to bed. It's no wonder why I feel drained all the time. Push myself 20 hours a day and sleep four if I allow it. The madness must stop. Goodnight everyone and have a wonderful day (or night to my friends overseas).

message 3933: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments G'morning Cindy! LOL SLEEP!

4:09 a.m. EST Time for my prednisone and expectorant. I'll read for awhile and then try to sleep some more.

message 3934: by [deleted user] (new)

5:21am. Slept good for the 3rd night in a row, so I feel great! Beautiful mild morning, all the windows open and the fan on, enjoying the fresh air and birdsong. Chris, sorry about the 6 day stretch, things like that can be brutal. TGIF everyone!

7:11AM I slept great although I felt like our blankets were sliding a bit in the middle of the night. I got new Satin sheets. I had to keep pulling the blankets back on top of me. Now enjoying some coffee and gonna read read read, I am tackling 2 books. I am not sure why I have placed myself back into this habit of more than one book. But I am guessing it is because I wanna read so many and can never really decide which I wanna start with.

Terri so glad you got some good rest! That is awesome!

Hope I'm not a bad influence on you with the multiple books thing Janie :) - I got down to one book for just a minute. Now I'm back to the old habit. Just can't help myself.

11:50 a.m. and I'm picking up a used car today before work. Will be back on GR's after work. Hopefully, a little bit into The Talisman if I get the chance to read at work today. Have a great day everyone!

Have a good day Cindy! No worries, I just have a hard time sometimes when I get a new book, not to pick it up and start on it. This one being Rot and Ruin which I have been dying to get started on. LOL I am totally enjoying The Talisman too. I can't help but let my mind wander back to The Dark Tower series. The Talisman definitely has that same feel to it!

message 3940: by CatWrangler (new)

CatWrangler | 7 comments Thanks, Cindy. Hope you're having a good day, too.

I think reading more than one book at a time is great. One is not always in fairytale-like fantasy world mood. Sometimes you just want to see how a detective will solve some gruesome murder or just ponder the reasons that make some complex character to do things. And as Janie says, it is hard not to pick up a new book.

It is 11.35 pm. Almost midnight. I finally have some time for reading again. I spent almost the whole day doing chores, fixing things at home with hubby.

message 3941: by Holly (new)

Holly | 1184 comments 7:15 p.m. Listening to music and watching the New York Knicks/Boston Celtics game. Came on GR to check up on everything really quick before I start studying.

11:31PM Well we were out most of the day again. LOL I really wanted to read. I did get my work out done though tonight, so that is good. I will take some time tonight to read a bit more. I did get about 130 pages read this AM. So I am happy about that.

message 3943: by [deleted user] (new)

1:35 a.m. and my stupid internet keeps going in and out AGAIN. Been having trouble for about a week now. Didn't get much of The Talisman read at work and now I have to work tomorrow. It's OK, I'm just gonna roll with it. Will read for an hour or so before bed. Have an apt. with eye doc at 11 a.m. but not sure how that's gonna work out since I have to be at work by 1 p.m. Have a great night (morning) everyone!

message 3944: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 2:21 a.m. EST Oh, what an irritating day! I was complaining about our Internet the other day; turns out our modem crapped out and we had to go get a new one just to we aren't cut off. GAH! Husband was paid today, so we could, but ... I won't be able to pay as much toward back rent this way. *sigh* Anyway, that's why I've been off-line all day. I was able to log in briefly in the afternoon, long enough to delete a lot of junk mail, but not long enough to actually do much of anything else. Well, we're back. :-)

message 3945: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm still having problems Katy. Even had a technician from Insight out here two days ago. Was great until today. Now it's doing the same thing. I don't know what's going on. I'm with you on the frustrating day! Plus, I have to work tomorrow, but it's overtime so what the heck.

message 3946: by Katy (new)

I'm starting to think it is my router Katy. I didn't pay much for it and have had it for about two years now. Next week I should have enough money to get a new one and see.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 9:45 AM. Mark and I are up and getting ready for the day! I am super happy today!! I love when my prayers are answered and especially so soon!! God is great! Mark is happy! Gizmo is happy! Pepper is happy! And, my dad is on his way home from the oil field! Now, if we could figure out breakfast and maybe i could convince Mark to take me to the bookstore because I haven't been on a long time....I just want to browse, not necessarily buy, lol...okay, I shouldn't get ahead of myself!!! :) happy Saturday my friends!!

message 3949: by [deleted user] (new)

10:55 a.m. and I have to work today. Overtime! Not exactly jumping up and down with joy over working Derby Day when I had plans, BUT the extra money is needed. A blessing really. Kathryn - I am so happy for you. It's great when things come together like that. By the way -What's for breakfast and where do you live? LOL
Have a fantastic day everyone!

message 3950: by Kathryn (new)
