Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 11:17PM Very long day at work but had a good evening once I got home. My wife and I watched Castle and I had dinner and recouped from my night. Now I'm beat and we are heading to bed. Night everyone and I hope you all have a pleasant night.

11:24PM Aeverie is ready for bed so we are heading that direction. If I can't fall asleep I will try reading more once he sleeps. Have a great night my GR friends!

Cindy, that's worth not reading tonight. :)

Katy, you've been through so much! I hope it starts going better for you soon.

Kathryn, did you finish the kayaks?

Chris and Cindy, I empathize with having jobs you hate but can't really give up. Chris, I think of you in the evenings stuck at work while I'm free to read or be with family. You have a hard schedule to manage and still keep quality family time.

3:49am EST. Up again with the stupid leg pain. Thanks to all for your good wishes re this. I appreciate the support. Looking for something good to read. The stuff I currently have in the house just is not doing it for me. I can't get to the library till tomorrow afternoon. I hate when this happens! But tomorrow I have to get my blood drawn, so since I'll be out anyway hub is taking me to the library so I can go in person. This doesn't happen too often.

Hope you all have a great day!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 9:34 AM. Woke up happy this morning! Going to fix a bagel and cream cheese for breakfast with some orange juice. I have a few errands to run for my dad since he is out of town, but they are easy and pretty quick. Going to focus on finishing Carrie this morning so I can watch the movie this afternoon and work on my crochet. Kitties are happy because their squirrel friend is back this morning and on the window sill.

Terri- we are working in the layers of fiberglass and epoxy. After we finish, we are close, this part, we put paint primer in and then paint them!! Just a few more weeks! Hope you have a great trip to the library!

10:23AM Hoping to get some reading done today. I can never actually plan on it when Aeverie is here. He is playing a game on his Mama's Tablet. He is so smart. It's fun to watch him be so engrossed in something. Thinking about what I want for lunch today. I really have no idea.

message 3859: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 1:15 p.m. EST Just sleeping and sleeping and sleeping. But that's cool, 'cause as long as I'm sleeping I don't feel so bad... LOL Definitely feeling a bit better now, despite the deep fatigue; not nearly as tight in the lungs. I'll probably sleep quite a bit more. Doctors always warn you that the prednisone will keep you up, but it doesn't really do that for me. So... lots of sleeping, not so much reading. Cats keeping me company. Need to send hubby off to work soon, then probably back to sleep!

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Terri, it is so sweet that you think about me stuck at work at night. My issue with hating my job is just something I deal with, at least I have a job. I do miss out on time with my family when I work evenings, but I try to spend as much time with my son as I can in the morning. I really hope you feel better and have a great trip to the library.

12:33PM Working the evening shift again, at least have tomorrow off but we will be busy. Going to try to get some reading in before the Blues game tonight. I will be listening to it when it starts so reading will have to be put on hold.

I know you work evenings also at a job you don't like so good luck tonight with your shift. Hope it goes by quickly.

message 3864: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank you Chris!! It's not a job I absolutely despise, but it is low paying and mindless. Thank you again. I really appreciate the words of encouragement. Sorry you're in the same boat :(

1:15PM I have gotten some reading done today because Aeverie decided he wanted to watch movies and play Jungle Jumper on the tablet. So it has been a nice break for me.

Chris & Cindy I hope you both have a good evening at your jobs. It stinks to work where you don't enjoy it.

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 7:21PM Sitting at work, have the Blues game streaming on my phone through some portable speakers. Got to love technology. Had to put down a great book because I couldn't focus on both. Just over an hour and a half till the end of my shift. Quick stop at the store and then home. Can't wait to get out of here.

Alondra Miller 8:26pm ET. Late day at work. Time to read and go to bed. Damn, I'm old.

Who remembers not even leaving to go to the club at 11:30. I do. I remember leaving the barracks at 11:45pm, so I could get there when the party got jumping.... well, things have changed. ...ugh! :/

*leaves with knees creaking and popping*

message 3869: by Chris (new)

9:41PM Well had homemade bean soup for dinner, was awesome! Then I had a great recovery work out. Watched the voice, love that show, and now gonna try and read some more as my grand baby hopefully settles in with a movie. We shall see. I would love to read another 50 pages before bed.

Alondra & Chris I sympathize with both y'all as far as knees goes. I have had bad knees since my early 20's and they have gotten progressively worse. I think that work outs helps keep them a bit looser.

Kathryn I look forward to your review of Carrie. Hope you enjoyed the book. I have yet to read that one too.

Oh, I will! I am reading

Screamscapes and having a blast with it. I really think Evans needs to write longer stories because those seem to be the ones I'm enjoying the most. They are more developed and he is really good at it.

GeneralTHC 1:10 AM Oh, my sleep cycle is so messed up. But at least I'm not sleepy now. I should be able to get some good reading done. I'm hoping to finish NOS4A2. Wish me luck!

GeneralTHC Cindy wrote: "I really think Evans needs to write longer stories because those seem to be the ones I'm enjoying the most. They are more developed and he is really good at it. "

I totally know how that goes. I don't really read short stories unless it's a horror anthology and it's all ways the longer ones I like the most.

message 3881: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, geez, knees, yeah. I messed mine up when I was 12, thrown from a horse; again at 16 in volleyball; 23 when I just fell... you see the thing. They're a mess. I have to be so careful!

As far as going out; I never did understand waiting to go out until late. I hated crowds. I liked to go early, find a good place to sit, and then people watch. I also liked to close the place down, so I would have to pace myself. Can't do that anymore, I tire out too easily.

3:20 a.m. EST Our connection to the 'net keeps going down. It's really annoying. Dmitry made a sort of beef and smoked gouda tacos with some sort of Russian flatbread for dinner. REALLY filling. One and I was DONE. But good. Close to finishing this book finally, but I'm winding down again and ready to sleep soon I think...

message 3882: by [deleted user] (new)

3:30 a.m. and Katy it's weird you say that - internet going in and out. We are having the same problem. Been going on all day. Acting up again for the last hour or so.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 3:50 a.m. EST Well, I'm done with e-mail. I should just log off, but Amazon turns on its new sales in 10 minutes, so I might stick around to see if there are any freebies on my wishlist. Or not. I dunno. Meanwhile, I'll read for now and go to sleep when I'm too sleepy to keep reading.

Cindy, that is weird. Do you have AT&T DSL, too?

7:29AM Just had breakfast, now ready for some coffee. Little one still asleep, and Kay just left for school about 30 min ago. Hub at work. Very peaceful right now. I love this time of the morning. Will finish Red Dragon today and then start The Talisman read with Cindy. Should be a good buddy read.

8:35am, spending a leisurely morning with coffee and GR. I finished 3 nonfiction books in the last 24 hours and just wrote my (brief) reviews. Now I'm floundering till I hit the library this afternoon. I'm a nurse so I see both sides of the Prednisone issue; when you need it there's nothing to replace it, and Katy, it sure sounds like you need it. Hope everyone has a great day!

I seldom get books for holidays and such. People just give me gift cards from amazon so I can load my Kindle or feed my hardback addiction.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:07 AM. GOOD MORNING, GR!! I had originally written a WTIIAWAYD? post, and hit the wrong button and it got deleted. Oops..haha. Had breakfast (bagel and cream cheese) and still drinking coffee. I haven't picked out what I should read next. I thought it was going to be Firestarter, but I am not sure what I am in the mood for now. I found the movie Carrie (the original with Spacek) on Netflix, so I am going to watch it and work on my crocheting. Then, I'll pick something out to read. I still need to write my Carrie review, which I will do after this post. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!
