10:53 a.m. and I have a lot to do before work. Clothes to wash, lunch to cook, and a shower. Plan to get some reading in between chores but it probably won't be a lot before I go to work. Definitely want to finish The Time Keeper sometime today. It is a really easy read. Listed as 224 pages, probably 100 of them blank. Lots of white space in this book. Have a great day everyone!

12:13PM I got to read a bit so far of Look Again. Need to get a bit more read. Would like to read more that just 50 pages today.

The Library table arrived today. So my library is complete, everything is moved. YAY!

1:28 p.m. and I have 45 minutes before leaving for work. Got the clothes washed and shower in. Working on lunch and still have to take the dog out. Plan to read just a tiny bit before work.

Janie - I am so happy for you! Nothing like getting your library completed!

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 12:33PM I am working the closing shift tonight so I will be around. It sounds like a rough weekend for some and I am so sorry to hear that. I actually had a really good Sunday. I was off of work so I got some stuff done around the house and got a good bit of reading in.

Victor, I can sympathize like so many here. We have been in your shoes, but I think things are so much rougher on kids your age than they were when I was in school. High school was the worst 4 years of my life, but College was great. It will get better. I am also available if you ever need to talk. Sometimes it might help to have a guy to guy chat.

Janie, that is exciting to hear about your library being complete. I do hope you post pictures I am looking forward to seeing what you have been talking about.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 2:26 p.m. EST I ended up falling asleep shortly after Dmitry left for Atlanta, but slept fitfully. I did NOT finish the book I started - only made it about a quarter into it - but it's a really awesome book: The Last Werewolf. The language is ... wow. The story is dark, violent, but it is SO well written. I'm loving it. But it's now time to edit, so I'll just be reading it in bits and pieces until I'm done with my editing for the week. First to clear out my e-mail, and then... Apex Predators.

5:45PM Getting ready to get into my workout in about 15 min, then will enjoy some coffee while watching The Voice with hub. Then will tackle some more of these 3 books I am reading. Not sure why I have 3 books going together, that is so unlike me. Black, Look Again, and For One More Day.

message 3667: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 8:46 PM. I made some delicious baked lemon pepper fish with mushrooms, broccoli cheese rice, and steamed squash and carrots for dinner. I had a great workout earlier, and I'm trying to decide what to read since I haven't been able to get into Black. I'm trying to decide if I should keep working at it, or come to the realization I may not be in the mood to read it or something, and try something else. I really want some cookies and cream ice cream....even though I had a workout. I feel better than I did earlier today. Talking to my sister in law and a really great friend put things into perspective for me. Now if I could just figure out what I should read and get some ice cream, life would be grand. :)

Glad you're feeling a bit better too Kathryn. I'm in the same boat as far as trying to figure out what to read! I'm tossing up between these four... The Dead Zone, Interview with the Vampire, Around the World in Eighty Days and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer.

The Dead Zone!!! It was so good!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Kathryn, I never much cared for cookies & cream ice cream, but Kemps used to make a wonderful chocolate-chip cookie dough frozen yogurt I just loved. Sadly it is no longer available and none of the others I've tried are as good. I can't eat actual ice cream as it makes my stomach unhappy.

10:14 p.m. EST that could have been a better nap. I was just falling asleep when Tiger did his trick with the toilet and I had to reward them. Then I was again JUST falling asleep when Dmitry arrived home, but I refused to wake up enough to talk to him and he ended up coming to bed before I acknowledged I simply was not going to sleep as well as I had hoped. Oh, well. E-mail and then editing, normal Monday night!

10:00PM Had my workout, shower, then the Voice, now sitting here on GR patiently waiting for little one to fall asleep. No nap today, he played outside for a big part of the day, had his bath and still seems to be going strong. Hmmm? LOL

Kathryn dinner sounded scrumptious! I plan on fixing some Tilapia fish tomorrow night. And speaking of cookies and cream ice cream I had some of that this evening. I am not huge on ice cream but once in awhile I will eat it.

11:50 p.m. and just got home from work. Had to train yet another person tonight, so I didn't get any reading done at work. Why can't companies pay people good instead of recycling help in and out all the time? Cheaper in the long run to just pay good help. Training costs lots of money. Oh well, not my company. Excited to be home and really want to dig into my reads!

Ah, but that would be looking at the long run instead of instant gratification. Logic doesn't work on these greedy bastards.

3:53 a.m. EST Taking a break from editing to clear out e-mail and it's almost time to check for today's freebies on Amazon. Hubby woke up an hour early, so is off picking up a few things we're out of, then today is his 2nd day in Atlanta. He's taking a class from an old friend of mine, someone with whom I worked back in the early 00s when I was at Dairy Queen corporate, before I met Dmitry. So hopefully we'll renew contacts!

Good morning, Bookworm Buddies!

message 3684: by [deleted user] (new)

I absolutely love looking for freebies on Amazon. I just started doing this about a week ago and already have 55 books. And yes Katy, companies rarely do the things that actually make sense anymore. Short term goals and to hell with the long-run. Have a great day everyone! I'm gonna do some reading for a while.

message 3685: by [deleted user] (new)

Victor, glad things are looking up for you. Count me as another person to look to should the need arise to vent a little...As I remember, high school sucks a whole lot.

Hope you're enjoying the library, Janie!

Lol at the beard, Katy. The 2nd picture was great. Your blue eyes are amazing!

11:27am Tues., having a blah day and can't find the motivation to do much. Still drinking morning coffee, maybe I'll try to read and see if that helps.

Kathryn I am so glad you are in a better mood today. I hope things only continue to get better for you. Good luck picking a book, I'm not sure what I'm going to read next either.

Terri, so glad to see you are posting again. Sorry to hear you are still having a blah day. Maybe you should add a little baileys to that coffee. :-) Just kidding, hope your day improves as well.

11:09AM in the middle of fixing myself some swai fish for lunch. Aeverie is enjoying Toy story. Gonna read some more of my 3 books. LOL

Kathryn Dark Curtains by Evans Light is free on Amazon right now for Kindle. it is a 41 page short story, was a pretty good ghost story.

message 3689: by [deleted user] (new)

You know what's funny about this Janie? A while back you had made the comment that it was hard for you to read more than one book at a time and I said that I always read four or five at once. Well, I've been working really hard to get to the point of reading only one at a time and you seem to be doing the opposite. It's just a little humorous when I think about it.

LOL Cindy IKR? I don't know why I am reading more than one. I guess because I was already reading Black and I did not have a chance to read Look Again before World Book Night which is today. So I wanted to get a start on reading it so I can promote the book better. And yes it is a good read. Then I found For one more day at Dollar General and was curious, so I picked it up and started reading it. Enjoy your lunch Cindy!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Cindy wrote: "I absolutely love looking for freebies on Amazon. I just started doing this about a week ago and already have 55 books."

I've been picking up freebies at Amazon for almost 2 years and have literally THOUSANDS. When I find an e-book in which I'm interested, I put it on my wishlist, and if someone doesn't buy it for me, sometimes it'll go free and I'll grab it then. I check the list every day. Have picked up a couple entire series that way.

Terri wrote: "Lol at the beard, Katy. The 2nd picture was great. Your blue eyes are amazing!"

Thanks! The weird thing is they usually are more grey; no idea why they look so bright in that picture. I guess it was the lighting or something...

3:43 p.m. EST Managed about 6 hours of sleep. Wanted more, but just could not stay laying down. My hips are really badly lately, and sleeping makes them scream. I wake up every hour or so to flip over, which isn't exactly restful. Anyway, clearing out e-mail and then hopefully I'll manage to hit my stride today with this editing. I really should have more done by now, but there are a lot of details and the original editing was really bad, so lots of things to clear up. Onward!
