We could start a rain lovers club. If anyone craves sunny, summery days I could send one. No, I'll gladly send all of them, the whole week and take at least one rainy day in exchange.

It's six pm and I'm a bit under the weather. Probably some virus and a row with hubby over his going through the red light.
At least it's reading time.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 11:17 AM. Finished The Talisman this morning. I will write my review later because some husband of mine wants me to hurry up and get ready to go do stuff. haha! I also want to think about how I am going to write my review. Will start Black today, which is the first book in Ted Dekker's Circle Series. Looking very forward to this buddy read with Janie! :) Happy Caturday, everyone!

Congratulations on the new son-in-law. Getting to spend time with the grandchild today will be nice. I did that last week, so this weekend I'm going to catch up on some reading. Also, I had a couple of people send me some drafts to read. Where on earth did people get my name or the idea of me to read drafts? It is an honor to be asked but I'm in a mild state of shock. Although I love to read and will always give an honest opinion, I am by no means articulate with my reviews. And my writing skills? Well, let's just say they could use a little brushing up. Hope everyone has a great day!

1:16 p.m. and today will be devoted solely to reading. I have fell behind and it's driving me nuts! At least it's sunny outside, so windows are open and coffee is on. Wishing all my GR's friends a wonderful Saturday!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 2:37 p.m. EST Crawled out of bed a bit after 1, and went to sit outside and read in the sun and eat pistachios. MMmm. Now I'm just clearing out e-mail. Oh, the cats demanded the gooshy food, so handed that out, and did my best to make sure the Fluff ate enough. Erasmus always finishes fast and then comes to steal what Fluff hasn't eaten yet, so I Have to drag Erasmus away and let Fluff finish. Of course, usually Fluff has finished anyway; he is SO finicky! So, I'll just be continuing my book. Reading The Blood Gospel, which seems pretty cool so far.

5:50 p.m. and just checked my newsfeed for updates and somebody just gave away a spoiler without hiding it. Errr! I haven't read The Fault in Our Stars yet. We have a buddy read starting in the next couple of days. Oh well, guess we have to expect this sometimes.

5:49PM Having a lovely day today while visiting with my daughter. Have not read much today again. LOL But maybe I will read a little here in a little bit after work out.

message 3615: by [deleted user] (new)

9:14 p.m. and I'm taking a break from reading to watch Thunder Over Louisville. Had no desire to go down there this year. Great place if you want to party, but it's a huge crowd and a lot of drunk people. I'd rather stay home and watch it on TV. Best seat in the house.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Oh, Sarah, have a fun night!

9:16 p.m. EST Just logged on to send a request to hubby via Text for a gas-station cappuccino. Haven't had one in a long time, and it's chilly enough tonight! Cleared out e-mail as long as I was here. Gonna check the forecast for the weather and return to reading. Listening to some Styx; current album is Crystal Ball and current song is title track. Tommy Shaw's intro to the band...

12:12AM I am getting really sleepy, and when I pick up a book my eyes get heavy. LOL We have grandbaby this weekend and he is already asleep so I think I will follow behind and hit the hay myself. I decided to try 2 books at once again. Wanting to read Look Again before April 23rd and WBN, since that is the book I am handing out. Both books are pretty good, so hoping I can give equal time to both. I just have not read much in 2 days and I hate that, but we got so busy yesterday and then today I was visiting with my oldest daughter. Will try and read much more tomorrow. G'Night GR! Sleep tight y'all.

message 3621: by [deleted user] (new)

Goodnight Janie. Think I'll only make it another hour or so then I've got to give it up. Read my arse off the last 24 hours.

I don't really think it was intentional Chuck. This person had just "liked" a review that was posted by someone else. Still mildly irritating.

This was my first, and from what I've heard the style is more indicative of the co-author Rebecca Cantrell than of Rollins. But it was fun! Half the length of the previous book, which took me 7 1/2 days to read, and this one took me about 28 hours to read, so ... *shrug*

1:30 a.m. EST Just clearing out e-mail and posting reviews before moving on to the next book I think The Madman's Daughter will be up next, since I liked The Island of Dr. Moreau, although this looks like it might have a love triangle in it (based on the synopsis), which I have come to hate. We'll see!

2:37 a.m. and I'm starting to get a headache from reading so much today. I am a slow reader and if I have read close to 200 pages in one day, it's been an all-day event. Must go to bed now. Have a wonderful evening, or day to all my European friends!

I thought 200 printed pages was fast and quite a lot for one day :) I can be slow, too, esp. when I am savoring a book, just pausing to think about what I read or surfing the net in search for information concerning the book I read.

Thanks for wishing me to get better. I feel worse than yesterday but at least I can watch TV and read in bed. I've started The Talisman but today I am more a James Patterson person. I'll see if I have one of the Woman's Murder Club books. It's 12.30 pm here.

12:00PM Got a late start here today, but that happens some times when grandbaby is here. So he is settled in right now with some lunch, Mac & Cheese. I am eating a salad. YUM. Gonna try and read a bit now. Had a great conversation with one of my sisters in Indiana. We talked almost 2 hours lol.

It's 1:27pm on a beautiful sunny but cool Sunday afternoon. Enjoying some baseball. (GO REDS!) Not much on tap for today. Didn't make the library yesterday so I'm short on reading material. Hub will go tomorrow for me after work. Just having sandwiches for dinner, so it should be a nice, quiet day. Trying to keep the anxiety and depression in check and succeeding fairly. Great day everyone!

message 3630: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Sorry to hear you're still feeling yucky, Ema. Hope you feel better soon!

2:39 p.m. Not sure what time I crawled out of bed, with my hips and lower back screaming in agony. I went straight outside to soak in the sun, which helped some. So now it's time to clear out e-mail and return to reading. It's been a long time since I read The Island of Dr. Moreau; I think coming close on 20 years. So I'm a bit shaky on how closely The Madman's Daughter follows that storyline. I really need to re-read that sometime, but with this "must finish the Amazon Vine" business the only outside books I'll be reading are those that precede a Vine book, like The Last Werewolf and the first two books in the James Thompson series.

Tomorrow I'll be editing. It's a book I read a few months ago and I begged the author (who I knew before I ever knew he was an author) to let me edit it, because it was a great premise but a hot mess and I'm hoping this way it'll be better. We'll see!

10:11 p.m. and time to get serious. I can sit up until around 4 a.m. if I choose tonight. Set the coffee timer to have coffee ready when we got home and now I'm ready to catch up on my reading. Have actually been making some progress the last couple of days. It was a bit of a draining day because I was gone most of the day. Now I get to sit back and READ. My favorite hobby in the world. Victor 10:30 PM and I'm doing nothing really. Might watch some T.V. kind of been sad so I've been scared that I won't feel the same about what I read and I won't like the book. I need to write a message to my friend, but I'll probably just ramble if I did it now.:(
I got home a little while ago and that was probably the worst car ride ever. My Mom says she's tired of my negative mood and she's going to have to call the school because she's tired of the people at school always making me sad and not wanting to go to school. I understand she cares about me and wants me to be happy, but I just don't like talking about my current situation in school.
Maybe I will send that message now. I need to talk to my best friend:D

Victor, I know how hard it can be, and I know how it is to feel sad and just want everyone to leave you be for awhile. I'll second Cindy's offer; if you need to talk to someone, just to vent, you can always contact me.

12:30 a.m. EST I was going to watch Hemlock Grove, but I forgot Dmitry has to leave very early tomorrow to go to Atlanta for a training class, so I guess I'll just try to read another book. 7:41AM Had a good night's rest. Aeverie is still asleep and it gives me some time to myself this AM. Just finished my first honey tea. Was going to do breakfast but not really feeling it this AM. I am thinking I will focus on Look Again by Lisa Scottoline today. So far it is very good.

Victor I am sure your Mom does care for you and wants what is best for you. Maybe you need to have a heart to heart and let her know you don't mean to be negative, but you would like to handle school issues yourself.

My daughter Kay is going through issues right now about school. Worrying already if she will graduate and she is only a freshman. There is a lot of pressure on students today. Just do the best that you can. Life is what it is Victor. If it is other students that are causing you problems it sounds like they themselves have issues as well.
