2:51PM Finished The Doorkeepers, now I am working more on The Quiet Game. It is pretty good. Going to have tuna salad for dinner. YUM.

Glad to hear you all weren't there in all that. I wondered if there was anyone I knew on GR in that mess.

Shell (shellcampbell) | 757 comments Thanks for all your kind words, I'm so lucky to have you guys in my life :) When I woke up this morning I felt a bit yucky in my tummy but I told myself I'm going to have a good day today, and you know what, I think that actually helps!

It is so terrible to hear what has happened in Boston :( I'm so glad you decided not to go Kyle!

Jesus! What is WRONG with people? I hope they're very happy, they killed a KID, those assholes! Grrrr.

10:55 p.m. EST Just taking a quick break from editing, reluctantly, as this is a really interesting book! But the e-mail piles up if I don't clear it once in awhile!

10:51PM It is really sad what the world has come too. People amaze me sometimes with their stupidity, rage, jealousy. :/

Sitting here checking out GR and my friends here. Seeing how y'all are doing. Going to read for a bit I think. Dig into this book a bit more and get it done. Had my honey tea, I love it. Also had a great workout!

message 3463: by [deleted user] (new)

11:54 p.m. and just got home from work not long ago. I am traumatized at the moment because I attempted to access a CBS newsfeed to see how many people were injured or killed in those explosions and without ANY warning whatsoever they showed video of one of the explosions. I was at work when I found out about this and I am so upset over this. Hope none of my friends on GR's was there or had family there. Might try to read and might not. I can't believe they showed that footage without any warning.

message 3464: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Cindy, I haven't heard of anyone I know having anyone affected yet, but my cousin and her fiancee had a friend running today; who was not injured. So sad...

1:17 a.m. EST totally losing focus, can't type, need to sleeeeeezzzzzzzzz

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 12:20 AM. I have been distracted by Facebook, and had to get ready for bed. I am now just about to open my book, and I suppose I will read until my eyes can't stay open. Goodnight, GR.....

message 3466: by [deleted user] (new)

2:55 a.m. and I swear I think GR's is trying to go down again. Just signed me out for no reason at all then I had to refresh this page like ten times to even get to the point I could post a message. And, every time I hit the notifications at top of screen I get an error message. This is after deleting cookies and resetting browser.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 10:09 AM. I've already had a rough morning. Woke up at 4:15 AM, and could not go back to sleep. I tried to fall asleep, but every time I would get close to falling asleep, I'd wake up again. Well, looks like coffee is on the agenda today for sure. Mark will be home around noon to go out of town. Need to do some things around the house before he gets home. Can't wait until I can read again, which will be some time this afternoon once I get everything I need to get done, done. Have a great day, GR friends! Send me some of your energy, if you can spare some! Or, just coffee....hahaha!

10:26AM Really digging into The Quiet game. It is exceptional. I like Greg Iles a lot, and his books as long as they do not get to governmental. One of the reasons I think I did not like the Zero Hour By Joseph Finder. Should finish by tomorrow, tonight would be better though.

Kathryn I would be dragging butt right now if that were me. And then if I tried to read it would put me to sleep I think.

message 3478: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 5:00PM just got back to work from my lunch break. Just a quick PBJ and some time with the wife and son. The only good thing about this job is the fact I can read when it is slow, and I like close enough I can go home on lunch for that hour.

Making burgers and fries tonight when I get home so even though it will be late, I am really excited to go home and cook my wife and I dinner. I'll be here all evening feel free to distract me.

message 3480: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Good luck Cassie, I can imagine the mix of feelings you must be going through. I was so lucky that since I was going to get my masters at the same University as my Undergrad, I didn't have to do anything but pick my classes. I hope you get in and you are very happy about it.

I'm listening to the Blues game right now. The Rangers are my second favorite Hockey team though.

message 3481: by Cassie (new)

Cassie (crk815) | 199 comments Thank u Chris-I have an undergrad in Social Work and can get up to 21 hours credit toward my Masters if I go there!!!

message 3482: by Cassie (new)

Cassie (crk815) | 199 comments But I graduated with my Bachelors in 2009, so a tad nervous!!!

message 3483: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments I think you will be fine, the only concern I would have is if they debate your credits. My dad transferred credits when he went back to school, but one of his classes was no longer offered so they said they wouldn't except it. He fought it and got them, but it was a struggle.

I got very lucky in the fact that I graduated with my undergrad, and then admissions called me a month later asking if I was interested in getting my masters. I said yes and a month later I was back in school. Good luck.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Hey, Chris... you're lucky you can read and play on-line at work! Track down the military and Dolphin Cheerleader's "Call Me Maybe" video, it's hilarious! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpatG... There's a fun parody called "Zombie Maybe" that's pretty good, too.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKlyk...
That enough distraction? LOL

Kylie, sorry to hear you're allergies are kicking!

9:15 p.m. EST I certainly was distracted by those videos. LOL The first is particularly fun; those guys are obviously having a ball trying to mimic the moves of the cheerleaders!

Up from my nap, once I clear my e-mail I'll be back to editing.

message 3490: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments I've seen the cheerleader/military video and you are right it is hilarious. I will have to check out the Zombie maybe in a few min, I actually got a rush of customers and I havee been a bit busy this last hour. So glad I can listen to the Hockey game while I work. Got to love Bluetooth.

Glad everyone is having a decent night so far. I can't wait to be off of work.

My friend referred me to a "Call me Gaybe" one, but the guys are too busy being sultry and don't manage to actually lip-synch or follow the storyline of the song, so it's mostly just a bunch of bare-chested (admittedly nice-looking) young guys dancing around each other. So that one earned a "meh" from me. Heh.

message 3492: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Well I think I will pass on that one, but the Zombie one is really funny. Thanks for telling me about that. I am going to have to show my wife when I get home. I love the distraction, customers have been crazy tonight and very very angry. I can use the laughs tonight.

Sorry to hear that. There are definitely advantages to rarely leaving the house for more than just to go sit in my yard and soak up some sun, in that I don't have to deal with crazy, asshat people... I can stick with the crazy, cool people I've surrounded myself with on-line! :-)

message 3494: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments That's the dream, maybe one day I too can have that kind of set up. Really I would just be happy to get out of this crazy retail setting and into a corporate job one day. The goal would be to finally write my book and do well so I could write full time, but I'm only slowly working towards that. This job sucks the life right out of me. I love fixing things and such it is just the politics and people, coworkers, and as you say asshat customers. It is tiresome, I do really appreciate you making me laugh, and I am very grateful for my awesome friends on-line who can keep me company while at misery. I mean work :-)

message 3495: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments OMG, Chris, have you seen the ORIGINAL video?? *wipes laugh tears* Oh, man, the ending... Check it out:
http://youtu.be/fWNaR-rxAic

Anyway, you don't want exactly my setup, because the reason I'm here is that I can't work an outside job anymore due to my health. The editing freelance gig... well I have my services seriously undervalued, so they basically pay my medical expenses and a few T-shirts or something. We're straining to make ends meet each month. But on the other hand, other than the financial thing the stress is so much less and I just laze around reading and stuff (mostly because I really can't do much of anything physical without hurting myself, but ... LOL) But the writing full-time? Yeah, that's a good dream. One of my authors, one of the first I started working with, has already managed that. I'm hoping he ends up being stinking rich and supports me in my dotage... LOL

Meh, chronic health conditions could be worse. It's mostly just pain. Glad I could amuse you! Heh. If I'm ever around when you need interesting things again, I'll send some your way. I'm always finding weird stuff while researching the details on the books I edit, and this one is particularly interesting.

Wish I could convince my husband to cook tonight, but he seems to want a cigarette more... LOL

G'night!
