Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 5:40 a.m. EST Finally finished with that awful series and can move on! Plan to listen to one of the audio books and rip the other to transfer to the MP3 player while I'm listening, and then I'm not sure what i'll do to help me maintain focus while I'm listening. I can't just idly listen, or my thoughts wander and I miss the story. Last time I played Mahjongg Solitaire so that is an option... LOL

7:00AM Kay just got on the bus for school. I am here on GR, getting ready for some coffee. Gonna read a bit this AM. Maybe clean out one of the flower beds so I can be ready to plant our pumpkin seeds this next month. Will have Aeverie help. He will love that.

O: (Is thinking Kyle is very lucky this AM!) Kyle huge favor! Think of me as you buys the books lol! Hehe. Enjoy yourself. B&N is always a huge treat!

I could too, but I think I spend more time at our local UBS, and old 3 story opera house. They have so many books and so many people in and out they can't even have a file system in there. I am sure maybe some day they will be able to get all of them in a computer, but you know what? It has been working well for them the way it is, so, If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Good luck finding your Neil Gailman.

message 3356: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments I love B&N, we don't really have any UBS around which is sad. I used to work at one for 3 years and it was the best job I have had. Alas I had to grow up a bit and find a job that paid the bills better. Those were the days and I do really miss being surrounded by all those books everyday. It was also nice to get a discount on the Starbucks stuff. Had a coffee or tea every day.

9:06AM and I am at work, checking in with everyone here and really hoping today goes by quickly. I actually have a Saturday off, but we have lots to do.I'm hoping to squeeze in the library tomorrow if I can.

And this is why I don't have pets. I like my bed to much, I just wish I got to spend more quality time with it. :-)

Enjoy your day Kathryn, hope you get some good reading in.

message 3359: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Haha well, I only have myself to blame because I always bring her to bed. She really likes to snuggle up close to me, and I typically don't mind. She just sometimes has a way of kind stretching out through the night and somehow I get pushed over. I have learned to sleep with her in the bed. I think part of my problem last night was the heater came on and ugh....I can't sleep when the heat is on. It makes it hard to breathe. All in all, when Gizmo doesn't sleep with me, I lose sleep because I am used to having her in bed, and it makes me wonder what she is doing and why she isn't with me. It's a conundrum. LOL.

message 3360: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments That's funny. I guess once you adjust to that presence it is hard to not have it. Kind of like a security blanket.

I'm not a fan of sleeping when it is hot so we always have a fan on. I like lots of blankets and a heavy comforter in the winter so the fan helps keep me from getting overheated. Summer is horrible, it gets so hot in our room. Can't imagine a Texas summer.

message 3361: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments Yeah.....Texas summers.......I will put it to you this way: sleeping with the air conditioner on, really light pajamas, a fan on, and a sheet can sometimes still be too hot.

message 3362: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments I bet that is miserable. We can get pretty hot too, but it is really the humidity that kills you here. That is why I am not a hot weather person. I love the cold, you can always put on more clothes if it is cold. You can only take so much off if you are hot and then you are still just hot.

Oh Fall, how I already look forward to its return. Spring kills my allergies so it is tough to enjoy.

11:24 a.m. and feeling just a bit overwhelmed. I like to catch up on all the GR's posts every day but I'm getting a bit behind. I will apologize in advance if I've missed your post and failed to respond. I am going to catch up on those for 10-15 minutes and then read for a couple of hours before work. Buddy read starts tomorrow! I'm excited.

4:55PM Had dinner and looking forward to my evening workout, but until then I have about 2 hours to read! Yay!

We always have a fan on in the bedroom all year round. It makes it easier to breathe throughout the night. Chris the humidity here in Texas is what kills me ugh. The kind that when you walk out the front door, it steals the breath out of ya. Dry heat is not so bad though, like in Arizona.

message 3367: by Tee27 (new)

Tee27 | 96 comments 6:47 PM, and I'm ready to read for a bit. I'd planned on reading for about an hour, but guess what interfered with my time, again? Goodreads, as usual! Well, I'm off to read now. I hope you all enjoy the rest of the day!

message 3368: by Chris (last edited Apr 12, 2013 04:10PM) (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Janie I didn't realize that Texas wasn't a dry heat. Then you all understand my pain here in the Midwest. My wife also likes the fan on because it drowns out my snoring as well. What ever works, I can't control that.

6:08PM and I'm making dinner for my boy. I'll start my wife's and my dinner later and we will eat after be goes to bed. So glad I'm home and I'm off of work tomorrow.

message 3389: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 7:42PM and we have had a very busy day today. My wife's sister was over this morning so my wife could show her how to decorate a birthday cake for our niece tomorrow. Then we had a birthday party for one of Conner's friends. Left there and headed to the library. Conner is in bed, dinner is finished and my wife and I are finally taking a breather and catching up on recorded TV.

Cindy, sounds like you are still super busy, but have had a good day so far. Alondra, I need to go plant shopping soon. Conner always gets my wife a hanging plant for Mother's Day, so I need to go pick out a good one for him.

8:40PM Just finished with my workout. Had my coffee, finished my book. Now checking on GR. Will be starting The Doorkeepers. Looking forward to this one.

Sounds like everyone had busy days today. Have not heard from my daughter yet so don't have grandbaby tonight, probably tomorrow though. So I will have some good reading tonight, maybe play my online game a bit. Have a good night everyone!

message 3395: by Victor (new)

Victor Thanks Chris. I don't let all the drama effect me that much. Especially my precious weekends LOL

message 3396: by Victor (new)

Victor Oh yeah, less than two more months of school! Really excited!

It's 8: 52 and I'm watching Halloween:Resurrection!!!! DUN DUN DUN
Love old horror movies:D

message 3397: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Calling Halloween Resurrection an old horror movie really makes me feel old. :-). I'm a big fan of horror movies in general but I love the way they used to be. Scary because you had to think and not just hack and slash. Even older slasher films were great because of the camp, like Nightmare on Elm St. I do love the really cheesy ones also, Evil Dead 1 and 2 are my favorite.

message 3398: by [deleted user] (new)
