Great review too Holly. Mine disappeared for some reason. Luckily on my blog site I had the review there so I could mine back up for Adam. Doesn't make any sense.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments I've read a few Dekker books; Green was really good and had some really interesting ideas. I see I have Adam on my wishlist...

10:43 a.m. and I'm up before my lovely partner because we both sat up until the wee hours of the morning. Gonna read for a bit until he wakes up then visit family and go hiking.

message 3156: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments 9:53AM and I'm at work barely staying awake. Didn't sleep well last night and zombie today. Trying to get a little reading in while we are slow, but I keep reading the same paragraph 4 times before I move on. This is going to take awhile. I'd nap but they frown on that apparently.

Hope everyone else is having a great day so far. I can't wait for the end of my shift.

message 3157: by [deleted user] (new)

Just don't fall asleep from reading Chris. I can't do it when I'm that tired. My head would be on the desk quicker than you could look at me. Hoping your shift passes quickly!

message 3158: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Well the good news it, it's a short fall to my desk so the damage to my face would be minimal. I knew reading wouldn't be a good idea, but I need something to pass the time. The boredom is even worse than trying to read tired. Thanks for the well wishes. I hope it passes soon.

You sound like you have quite a nice day ahead of you. I hope it is enjoyable.

message 3159: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, it's my first day off since my honey celebrated his birthday. God, he would be upset if he saw this - "honey". Guess it's a "man" thing. HaHa. Sorry I have to make at least an attempt at a funny once in a while. I take crosswords, puzzles, etc with me to work. It is a little better than attempting to read when I'm exhausted. You have a great day also Chris.

12:04PM Will be going to pick up the grand blessing this evening once Randy gets home from work. Had lunch and now about to vacuum, should have done that already, especially when you have 3 dogs and a cat who thinks he is a dog. Will be back once I finish with the vacuum. The gonna dive into my book.

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 12:09 PM. Working on our kayaks today. Such a beautiful day today. I am happy and the sun is out, which makes me extra happy. We will probably be working on the kayaks for a few more hours. We want to finish them in a few weeks.

message 3162: by [deleted user] (new)

It's 2:17 p.m. and we're getting a bit of a late start today since both of us found it necessary to sit up until 5:00 a.m. this morning. On the way out of the house and changed plans slightly. Instead of going to Jefferson Memorial Forest we are going to the library and then to a cook out at my daughter's house. Get to see the grandkids this way. Hope to find some books for sale at the library! They sell them 3 for $1 paperbacks and $2 each on the hardbacks and often have good picks. Probably get online really late tonight but for now it is FAMILY time :)

2:01PM Ok well, did a little more than just vacuum. I dusted, and also cleaned the ceiling fans. Kayla helped me out. The we got her room and Sons rooms tidied up as well. Now I will only have a couple of hours to read, also have to do dinner before we go get grand baby. Full day for me today.

Kathryn I am loving the weather immensely. Have the house opened up! Enjoy working on your Kayaks!

Cindy hope you get lots of books!

Jordan hope you get to feeling better soon.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Hey, Chris; I had this job once that I was always falling asleep at. I finally figured out that it was only after I ate something substantial, so I started just snacking while at work, maybe a granola bar for lunch. It's also when I started drinking caffeine again (there was a period of time when drinking caffeine would cause me to have a panic attack). It was so annoying! Hope you make it through the shift!

4:30 p.m. EST OH, man, I'm SO TIRED today; I just did NOT want to drag myself out of bed, but I finally did, and went to sit outside since it was lovely. Now I'm clearing out e-mail and then will read this 3rd book in the Bel Dame Apocrypha.

message 3166: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Thanks Katy, today has dragged so long. I still have almost 2hours left, and I am going mad.

I know what you mean about the caffeine giving you panic attacks. It doesn't happen often to me but sometimes certain sodas have the same affect on me. I haven't eaten much today just snacking in hopes it perks me up but nothing.

Once I leave here I have to run to the grocery store to get stuff for dinner, and then I am crashing at home if I can. After I cook dinner of course.

Hope you are feeling more awake after sitting outside and such.

It's 4:48 p.m. and we just got back from the library. Had a big sale today and I got four books for $2. Next up, my daughter's at 6:00 p.m. for a cookout, watch game, and visit grandkids. Here are the books I got.

Wish You Well by David Baldacci , Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Other Stories by Lewis Carroll , Foxe's Book of Martyrs by John Foxe , and Lightning by Dean Koontz

message 3168: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Chris, what's so weird about that period in time is I was also taking some kind of medication that is designed for narcoleptics (in hopes it would help with my fatigue), which should have kept me awake. But nope. LOL

5:14 p.m. EST A friend told me about this app on Facebook that will analyze what you write, and it told her she cursed more than 89 percent of her friends, so I'm trying it out to find out that sort of info, but it takes a LONG TIME. It's been "analyzing" my "Facebook data" for about 20 minutes now... wow. And I'm almost done with e-mail. Just drinking a Coke and eating some pistachios!

message 3169: by [deleted user] (new)

It is 11:45 p.m. and I hate to say this but I'm totally exhausted tonight. Unable to read any longer and just need some sleep. Don't remember the last time I went to bed before 2:00 a.m. Have a great night everyone!

10:43PM Just sitting back and relaxing with a cup of honey tea and GR. Gonna get the grandbaby in bed soon. I don't know how he has so much energy with no nap. He does not get a lot of sweets, so it isn't that. IDk. Have a movie in for him hoping that will tire him out. He even played in the back yard for a couple of hours. LOL

Got to read a little bit more of my book. It is a little slow, but hopefully will pick up some. I really want to like this book. LOL

message 3171: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments G'night Cindy; have some rest! I know I slept a lot the last couple of days and have been weirdly tired, too. Wonder if it's just the weather or something.

11:55 p.m. EST Up from a nap and clearing out e-mail before I return to this book. Trying to figure out which countries follow what religion is like an anthropology project; the major ones seems to be Islamic, but there are a couple minor that I suspect are Jewish and Catholic. Strangely enough, the major contention is between the Islamic countries. Then there seems to be one country that is peopled by non-human but human-like beings, and they're really mysterious. I'm wondering if this is a trilogy or a longer series... now I need to go find that out!

message 3172: by [deleted user] (new)

5:51am. Been up about an hour, still kind of groggy. Got my first load of wash in. Plan for some general cleaning today and definitely some REDS baseball. Supposed to be a beautiful day. Floundering on the reading front, just can't get focused. Your kayaks sound awesome, Kathryn. What a fun project for you two! Guess I'll stumble into the kitchen and get some coffee going, get this day officially started. Great day everyone!

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 6:47 a.m. EST Just finished the NetGalley book/end of series I started, and now I have to read a first book in series before I can start on the first actual Vine book... LOL Still, lots of reading to do and not much time to do it in. I have a giveaway scheduled to go live tomorrow, so I'm about ready to set that up.

It's 2:58 p.m. and I've been running half the day. Went to the laundromat and grocery shopping. That in itself took up 3 1/2 hours of my day. Then I can home, washed dishes, cleaned the bathroom, and cooked something to eat. NOW it's reading time. The rest of the cleaning can wait till tomorrow. I'm tired. Missed getting on GR's this morning.

3:32PM Well Kay has entertained Aeverie a lot for me today! So that is awesome. I read a bit but really struggling with this one. Hub will be home in a little more than an hour. We will have dinner and I will read some more. It is rest day from Insanity this evening which is great because my knees are killing me today.

It's 4:42 p.m. and I MUST take a nap. Don't know what's up with me today but I'm really sleepy. Got plenty of rest last night, so I'm not sure what's up with that. Talk to you folks later tonight. Probably late. Have a great afternoon!

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Sounds like everyone had a busy day so far.

It's 4:15PM and lunch with Dad was great. My son and I had a great time with my Dad. Then when we got home we went for a walk and now we are all out sitting on the balcony. Conner is playing playdough at his little table and my wife and I are sitting and reading. The weather is really nice today but a bit warm for my taste.
