Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Terri I hope you at least feel better. I would assume the pain is something that wont fully go away. My heart is with you and I hope you at least return more to yourself soon.

10:52AM and I'm working. Had a great Easter yesterday, and I am still exhausted from all the excitement.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 1:32 p.m. EST Just clearing out my e-mail before I start editing Call me Jane. Once I finish that, I'll be reading Seduction: A Novel of Suspense; I adore M.J. Rose, so I'm really looking forward to this one!

message 3003: by GeneralTHC (new)

GeneralTHC 2:04 PM CST Just finished The Silver Linings Playbook. I ended up giving it 4 stars. I think today is the day I read 2 novels in one day--maybe even three-- we'll see. It just picking them that's the problem for me.

Tee27 | 96 comments It's 4:13 PM , and I'm relaxing, listening to some tunes on Youtube.

Terri, I hope you feel better.

message 3005: by Tee27 (new)

Tee27 | 96 comments So, I have question:

Which one is worse?

A guy/woman with unkempt hair?

Or

A guy/woman with bad shoes?

message 3006: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Tee... honestly, what is worse is a man/woman with a bad attitude. Appearance just isn't that important to me. What counts is on the inside.

4:18 p.m. EST Just taking a quick break from editing to clear out e-mail, and then I think I'll take a nap. Was surprised to see the mail ran all weekend. I seem to recall that they used to take off either Good Friday or Easter Monday... *shrug* Anyway, the 5th issue of Witch Doctor is here, so I'll probably give that a read in the next day or so. These are incredibly fun graphic novels!

message 3007: by Chris (last edited Apr 01, 2013 01:40PM) (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Tee, I'm on the fence with that one. I tend to not care about my shoes as long as they keep my feet dry and protected. When they spring a leak then I worry, but I keep my shoes looking nice even when I have worn the souls down to nothing.

My hair I like to be kept neat so it isn't in my face, and I am a little crazy about making sure my hair is nice and neat. But on my day off I usually skip the gel and just comb it. Frizzy and such doesn't bug me on my day off. Throw a hat on it if it is to bad to go out with.

6:45PM Will be working out in about 45 min. Have the grand blessing till tomorrow so I am not getting a whole lot of reading time in. I am really sleepy tonight so if I did get to read it would prolly knock me out anyway! LOL

message 3011: by GeneralTHC (new)

GeneralTHC 8:32 CST Just finished Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness. Today is the first day I've ever read two novels from start to finish in the same day (within 12 hours actually), though I've read more pages in a day--that's still a first for me though. Maybe I'll go for three!

message 3012: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Hey, Chuck, that's great! I've definitely had days like that, especially back in my sunbathing days where I'd spend 7 or 8 hours a day out in back soaking up the sun and reading. You can do a lot of reading when not being distracted by anything but the need to occasionally flip over! :-)

10:02 p.m. EST Up from my nap, clearing out e-mail, then back to editing! Would like to finish this manuscript tonight so I can move on to M.J. Rose's Seduction: A Novel of Suspense! I'm so excited to have the chance to read her latest this early! (It's scheduled for release May 8)

Thanks! I would but I just don't know what to read. I just have such a problem deciding what to read. I've spent more time looking for books to read than reading for a while now. I just keep looking around until I spot something someone is reading that I find interesting...

2:49am. Awake with cough and leg pain but it's not too bad. (Sorry, folks, I don't always mean to be complaining. Just trying to explain why I'm up in the middle of the night again.)

Chuck, I appreciate your dilemma. You're very discriminating about what you read. I'll read a lot of stuff that's not necessarily top drawer just to fill the time. I always have something available.

Tee, I'm with Katy. I probably wouldn't notice shoes or hair unless they're really outrageous. It's what's inside that counts for me.

Janie, your commitment to working out is really impressive! You've inspired me--I can't do much but I've started some simple leg and arm exercises. Trying to get hub to walk with me after work. (I'm too unsteady to walk on my own.) The puppy is up for this too!

Kathryn, can't wait to hear your news! Miss you!

Nothing too exciting on the books for today. Just laundry and reading. Have a great day everyone!

10:31AM Grandbaby settled in with Little Foot. I am here on GR and reading. I have not gotten to read much in the last couple of days. I have been on Evil at Heart for 2 days now. It really is not grabbing me as much as the last one. Still good, just not great.

message 3028: by [deleted user] (new)

It's 12:36 p.m. and I've had a lot of errands to do the last two days and will tomorrow also. Little time for reading. Have maybe another hour or so today and then I plan to plug away starting Thursday again. Today is my lovely soul mate's birthday. I love him so much!

Kathryn (kcanty313) | 1870 comments 11:35 AM. Just walked out of my job for good. I have never been so unhappy in my life. When your spouse has known for several weeks how unhappy you are, and you come home in tears, and when you two finally sit down to talk about it and he says, "Just quit. It's not worth being this unhappy.", then you know there is a serious problem.

Think I will pick out a book to read, and then work on cleaning my house. Hope everyone is having a great day! I know I am!!!

Thank you, Cindy!! That means a lot to me. I am actually very happy now. I didn't realize how unhappy I was until I started crying on my way home because I felt so relieved.

How are you?!

message 3032: by [deleted user] (new)

I am good just a bit stressed from all the running I've had to do this week. It will all be over Thursday. I'm glad to hear that you feel some relief. You should never feel forced to work at a job that makes you feel stressed out constantly.

message 3033: by Chris (new)

Chris (cbrunner11) | 674 comments Kathryn I am so proud of you for quitting your job. I am jealous, but this will be so much better for you in the long run. Good luck if you search for something better. Glad you are happy and free from at least that stress.

Kathryn so sorry to hear that your job left you so unhappy, but your hub is right, if you are that unhappy the job is just not worth it. I hope that maybe you can find something else in the near future.

Cindy I hear ya, I have not been able to read much in the last couple of days.

12:35 Just had lunch and now ready to read some more. I wanna finish this book tonight. Fingers crossed that Kay can bring me Reached, from her school library.

I wish I had a smartphone and GR when I was in school. I used to write stories instead so it at least looked like I was taking notes. Had I actually paid attention I might have had a 4.0. Oh well, it was more fun to write. Good luck with your learning.

Thank you. We're lucky to have technology. I'm studying journalism, so it isn't really that bad. But the subject I actually have to learn for is Economics and that just really isn't my thing. (:

Well, I'm glad we can help keep you entertained during class. GR gets me through my work shift, and really helps the time pass. I like the distraction.

I didn't have to take Economics, so good luck with that. I had a little of it with other classes, just not a class on it's own.

Tee27 | 96 comments I definitely agree that one's personality is the best feature, because it lasts even when looks fade or change. That's why they say looks attract but personality keeps :-)!

My previous question was referring to a moment where pure physical attraction.

Thanks to all of you who answered my question :-)!

4:50PM Just had dinner, yum Frito Pie! Was very good, but a bit on the spicy side. Will be working out a little later. Making progress in my book it got A LOT better!

message 3047: by Katy (new)

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments Hey, Tee... it's crazy, but I rarely notice those sorts of things, either, when I'm attracted to someone. It's their eyes that will haul me in, and their hair can be a mess and their shoes have holes in them, but I won't even see it. LOL

6:02 p.m. EST Yup, it was the Cowon. I tried to take a nap while it was charging, but now it's charged and I just went to copy things and then ... I dunno, it like ejected itself and is "updating the database", so I will have to wait and see if anything even copied. Weird. Right now I can't access it on my computer at all; it doesn't show as plugged in. once it's done updating, I'll take off the USB and re-plug it and see what happens. Meanwhile, I'm clearing out e-mail and then if it still isn't done, I'll read while I watch it. I'm not worried, as someone else I talked to about these said it does take awhile initially to set up.

Kathryn, I'm glad your biggest dilemma is what to read next. Glad you are happy.

Katy (katyas-69) | 1731 comments 6:58 p.m. EST ... still updating database... chug, chug, chug... hopefully everything copied, or I'll be screaming in a bit... LOL

Meanwhile the e-mail is almost gone, so I guess once that is done I'll just ... umm, read. Yup.
